Emmet Sheehan News
Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Emmet Sheehan (forearm) hasn't thrown off a mound yet, but he's progressing well and has been ramping up the intensity of his long-toss program. Sheehan has been throwing after being shut down in the middle of April due to a right-forearm injury that he suffered in mid-March in spring training. The 24-year-old will be eligible to return from the 60-day injured list on May 18, but that's probably not going to happen given the fact that he has yet to pitch all season to this point. But if Sheehan can avoid any setbacks from here on out, he should be able to rejoin the Dodgers' big-league roster before the All-Star break. He debuted in the majors in 2023 and went 4-1 with a 4.92 ERA and 1.19 WHIP with 26 walks and 64 strikeouts in 60 1/3 innings over 13 appearances (11 starts).
Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Emmet Sheehan (forearm) has been shut down from throwing again, according to manager Dave Roberts. The 24-year-old's injury isn't responding the way the team hoped it would as Roberts said it's "a longer term situation". Of course, that is grim news for the right-hander as long-term forearm issues never pan out properly for the player. Sheehan has yet to appear in a game this season after he worked to a 4.92 ERA across 13 appearances (11 starts) and 60 1/3 innings with the Dodgers last season. He struck out a solid 25.8% of the batters he faced in that time but the massive strikeout rates he put forth in the minors firmly put him on the fantasy radar in 2024. It doesn't appear he will be available to fantasy managers any time soon.
Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Emmet Sheehan (forearm) has been placed on the 15-day injured list with right forearm inflammation. Sheehan was an option for the starting rotation entering the spring, but was beat out by Gavin Stone. Forearm injuries are always concerning, but there hasn't been a clear timeline on when the Dodgers expect the 24-year-old to return. For now, Sheehan remains best served in dynasty leagues, however, managers should monitor his situation when more updates become available.
