Vinnie Pasquantino News
Kansas City Royals first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino will be receiving the day off on Sunday as the Royals look to clinch a series victory in a four-game set against the Los Angeles Angels. After getting off to a slow start to the season, the 26-year-old has been turning things around the past few weeks with a .350/.370/.600 line since April 30. As a result, Salvador Perez will shift to first base, which opens catching duties for Freddy Fermin, who will bat in the five-hole. Fermin has posted an excellent 11.1% K rate and a modest .241/.302/.328 line with one long ball through 20 games. He could be worth consideration in DFS as he faces southpaw Patrick Sandoval, who enters Sunday with a 4.85 ERA and 1.49 WHIP.
Kansas Royals first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino went 2-for-4 at the plate on Thursday and launched his fifth home run of the campaign. After getting off to a slow start to the season, Pasquantino looks to be rounding into form. Overall on the season, the 26-year-old has a solid .256/.340/.457 slash line, but it has been even better as of late. Since May 1, he is riding an incredible .429/.441/.714 line with 11 RBI and a 3:4 BB:K. Hitting third in the Royals lineup every day presents him with significant opportunities to get on the scoresheet while batting behind superstar Bobby Witt Jr. and in front of backstop Salvador Perez. Pasquantino is a solid play in any DFS matchup and should always remain in your fantasy lineup.
Kansas City Royals first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino is not in Saturday's lineup as the Royals continue a three-game set in Queens. Pasquantino was off to a slow start, as he tallied just five hits in his first eleven games. Since then, Pasquantino has hit for a .583 AVG with two doubles and one home run. Salvador Perez will shift to first base today, and Freddy Fermin will serve as the backstop for pitcher Alec Marsh. This will be Fermin's sixth start of the season and will have a difficult matchup as he faces southpaw Sean Manaea, who has a dominant 0.82 ERA and 0.73 WHIP across his first two starts.

Kansas City Royals first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino's 2023 season was cut short after suffering a torn labrum 61 games in. The former eleventh-round pick was attempting to build on 2022 when he posted a 136 wRC+ in 298 PA at the MLB level (72 games) and had a .285-28-96-77-4 line between 522 Triple-A and MLB ABs. His 2023 line was .247-9-26-24-0 with a .327 WOBA and 103 wRC+ in 260 PA before he went down. Through 558 PA in the majors, "Pas-quatch" has maintained the low K% (11.6%) and above-average BB% (10.8%) he exhibited in the minors. Both his Contact% (84.0%) and SwStr% (7.4%) are well above-average too. With those types of bat-to-ball skills and a bit more luck (.250 BABIP in 2023), there should be a rebound in batting average in 2024, while generating sneaky power production. ATC projections for 2024 see the lefty with a .273-21-74-68-1 line with a .354 WOBA and 125 wRC+ in 562 PA (133 games). He's fully healthy going into the season, so if Pasquantino can manage to get a bit closer to 600 PA while batting cleanup, those numbers could end up a bit more stout. RotoBaller appropriately prices him at 165 overall, slightly ahead of his NFBC ADP of 170.
