Willy Adames News
Milwaukee Brewers infielder Willy Adames has been crushing the ball over the last few days. On Wednesday, Adames went 2-for-4 with a pair of home runs and four RBI in the win over the Tampa Bay Rays. Adames now has three homers and eight RBI over the last two games. There was some thought that Adames would hit lower in the batting order this season. However, he has been batting cleanup or higher over the last few weeks. Adames now has 21 RBI over 30 games this season.
Milwaukee Brewers shortstop Willy Adames had a nice game at the plate in Tuesday's 8-2 win over the Rays. Adames went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run, four RBI, and a walk. The 28-year-old has had a solid offensive start to the season, slashing .270/.369/.441 with four HR, 17 RBI, and four stolen bases in 130 plate appearances. Power has always been in his repertoire, but Adames' fantasy value could jump even higher if he can maintain a decent batting average while peppering in some steals.
Milwaukee Brewers shortstop Willy Adames had a huge game in Sunday's Cactus League matchup versus the Arizona Diamondbacks. Adames went 3-for-3 with four runs and three home runs. The homers would knock in all of his six RBI on the day. The 28-year-old was the subject of trade rumors this offseason, but stuck with the Brewers and has had a huge spring with a .317 batting average to accompany six homers and 15 RBI. Adames has seen a dip in his batting average over the past two seasons, but the power remains there with 24 or more homers in the past three seasons. An upcoming free-agent, Adames is motivated to get that big pay day and his hot start in the spring makes him an intriguing bounce back candidate.

Milwaukee Brewers shortstop Willy Adames couldn't put it together consistently at the plate in 2023. He brought his usual pop to the table with 24 home runs and another 29 doubles across 149 games but he also hit just .217, 30 points below his .247 career average. Despite walking more and striking out less, Adames finished with a career-worst 94 wRC+. However, he also suffered from a career-low .259 BABIP, a hefty 51 points below his .310 career mark. Now, some of that was warranted considering he ranked in the 23rd percentile in hard-hit rare and 16th in average exit velocity. However, he also ranked in the 82nd percentile in barrel rate and ranked in the 70th percentile or better in hard-hit rate from 2021-2022. He currently boasts a 185.3 ADP, a figure more or less in line with RotoBaller's 191 ranking. However, for those willing to pass on the top tier of shortstops early on draft day, Adames could provide a big ROI in the later rounds with 30-homer upside and superior batted-ball luck on the horizon.
