Wyatt Langford News
Texas Rangers rookie outfielder Wyatt Langford (hamstring) ran the arc of the infielder before Wednesday's game against the visiting Cleveland Guardians. It comes after Langford said on Monday that he has been able to run at around 85-90 percent intensity as he rehabs from a strained right hamstring that was expected to keep him out for three to four weeks. The 22-year-old fourth overall pick last year out of Florida began swinging a bat last Friday, but the Rangers aren't going to rush their prized outfield prospect back too soon. In his first 31 major-league games before going on the injured list, Langford went 26-for-116 (.224) with a home run, 11 RBI, a stolen base and 13 runs scored. Despite his slow start, Langford's sky-high upside makes him stash-worthy in all fantasy formats.
Texas Rangers rookie outfielder Wyatt Langford (hamstring) said he ran at 90 percent effort on Monday and didn't have any issues with his injured hamstring. In addition to running, Langford said he started swinging a bat last weekend. The 22-year-old will need to run at full speed to test out his right-hamstring injury before the Rangers consider reinstating him from the injured list. With Langford expected to be out for two to three weeks in total, it would be a pretty big surprise if the youngster isn't sent on a minor-league rehab assignment before he rejoins the big-league lineup. The fourth overall pick last year out of Florida has tremendous upside in 2024 and beyond but went 26-for-116 with a homer, 11 RBI and 13 runs scored in his first 31 games before landing on the IL. Because of his upside, Langford should remain stashed in all fantasy formats.
Texas Rangers outfielder Wyatt Langford (hamstring) will be placed on the 10-day injured list on Monday, according to manager Bruce Bochy. The rookie outfielder was forced to exit early during Saturday's game due to a left-leg issue. After further evaluation, Langford has been diagnosed with a Grade 1 hamstring strain. The organization believes that Langford will miss three or four weeks of action. Ezequiel Duran started in his place on Sunday and figures to have an increased role going forward. Fantasy managers might want to check the waiver wire to see if Duran is still available.

Texas Rangers outfielder Wyatt Langford was the fourth pick in the 2023 MLB draft. That, however, may not stop him from starting the 2024 season off in the majors. After being drafted last season, Langford ran through the minor leagues, ending up in Triple-A. Now, the 22-year-old is invited to Spring Training for the defending World Series champions. ATC has a projection of a .267/.347/.471 slash line over 415 plate appearances in 2024 for the former Florida Gator. RotoBaller's Benjamin Chase has Langford ranked as the second prospect in his latest dynasty rankings. In redraft leagues, he ranks as the third-best prospect on RotoBaller. If he can break camp on the major league roster, Langford could be battling teammate Evan Carter, among others, for Rookie of the Year honors. Langford has been on fire this spring, hitting .348 with six home runs, 19 RBI, and 13 runs across 49 at-bats. His ADP is hovering around 91 in March, which puts him at value at his current RotoBaller ranking of 80. Langford's draft stock is on the rise, and his price will only continue to increase as he mashes this spring.
