Chris Brooks News
Miami Dolphins rookie running back Chris Brooks (ankle) will not come off Injured Reserve on Saturday and has been ruled out for the Week 13 game against the Washington Commanders on Sunday. The Dolphins opened the 21-day window for Brooks to be activated from Injured Reserve earlier this week, but he's not quite ready just yet. The 23-year-old has been out since Week 6 with an ankle injury and will purely be depth at the running back position for the Dolphins whenever he is activated from IR. In his first six NFL games before suffering an ankle injury, Brooks had 15 rushing attempts for 94 yards and no touchdowns and wasn't targeted at all in the passing game. He's not anywhere near the fantasy radar.
The Miami Dolphins placed rookie running back Chris Brooks (ankle) on Injured Reserve on Friday. Brooks will now be required to miss at least four games after injuring his ankle in the Week 6 win over the Carolina Panthers. The 23-year-old will be eligible to return in Week 12 against the New York Jets. With Brooks now on IR, it's likely that the Dolphins will officially activate running back Jeff Wilson Jr. (finger, ribs) from IR so that he can make his season debut this Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles. In his first six NFL games, Brooks saw 15 carries for 94 yards. Rookie De'Von Achane (knee) is also on IR and won't be able to return until after the team's Week 10 bye.
Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said on Monday that running back Chris Brooks (ankle) is week-to-week due to an ankle injury he suffered in Week 6's 42-21 win over the Carolina Panthers, per Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network. In an elevated role without De'Von Achane in the lineup, Brooks took six carries for 28 yards in the blowout victory. If Brooks is indeed facing a potentially multi-week absence, expect the Dolphins to focus on getting Jeff Wilson Jr. (ribs/finger) activated from injured reserve in time for Week 7's heavyweight battle with the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday Night Football. Salvon Ahmed would likely work as the clear-cut No. 2 back behind Raheem Mostert if neither Brooks nor Wilson is able to go on Sunday.
