Lil'Jordan Humphrey News
The Denver Broncos re-signed wide receiver Lil'Jordan Humphrey to an undisclosed one-year deal on Wednesday, according to a source. Humphrey had 13 receptions for 162 yards and a career-high three touchdowns in his first year in Denver in 2023 while playing in all 17 games. While he had a career-best season catching the football, he was also the team's best blocking wideout. The 25-year-old could have a bigger role in 2024, too, following the team's trade of Jerry Jeudy to the Cleveland Browns last weekend. However, with the Broncos most likely starting either Jarrett Stidham or a rookie at quarterback, it will be hard to trust any receiver in Denver next year not named Courtland Sutton. Humphrey also has only 31 career receptions for 477 yards and six touchdowns in his five NFL seasons.
Denver Broncos wide receiver Lil'Jordan Humphrey was able to make a big splash for this struggling offense during Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Chargers. The veteran wideout turned an eight-yard route into a 54-yard touchdown. After that, Humphrey was pretty quiet as he finished with two receptions on four targets for 69 yards in the win. The Broncos are expected to continue starting Jarrett Stidham for the regular season finale. That means, none of the Broncos wideouts are going to have much appeal versus the Las Vegas Raiders next weekend.
Denver Broncos wide receiver Lil'Jordan Humphrey could be looking at a significant role in Week 17 versus the division-rival Los Angeles Chargers with Courtland Sutton (concussion) out and Jerry Jeudy (illness) and rookie Marvin Mims Jr. (hamstring) both questionable to play. Humphrey played 58 percent of the offensive snaps for the second straight week in last Sunday's loss to the New England Patriots after Sutton went down with a concussion, but it didn't lead to any targets through the air. The 25-year-old should see the field plenty this Sunday with Sutton out, but one of or both Jeudy/Mims will probably be active, which means Humphrey is likely to be a long shot to produce meaningful fantasy numbers, especially with quarterback Jarrett Stidham now leading the Broncos offense. Humphrey has only 11 receptions for 93 yards and two touchdowns in 2023.
