Terron Armstead News
Miami Dolphins left tackle Terron Armstead is fully expected to return in 2024 to play another season. Armstead left his playing future in doubt in January after the team was eliminated by the Kansas City Chiefs in the wild-card round of the playoffs, but it appears that he plans to continue playing. His 2024 salary, which is already partially guaranteed, will become fully guaranteed on March 16. The 32-year-old Pro Bowler has dealt with injuries in each of the last three seasons, which is probably the biggest reason why he was initially considering retirement. But when he's healthy, Armstead is one of the best left tackles in r football, so his announcement to return for another season is good news for quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and the rest of the Dolphins offense.
Miami Dolphins offensive tackle Terron Armstead has had a fantastic career since entering the NFL in 2013 as a third-round pick by the New Orleans Saints out of Arkansas-Pine Bluff. In 11 seasons, the 32-year-old has been named to five Pro Bowl rosters and was named an All-Pro selection in 2018. However, injuries have piled up in recent seasons. He has appeared in 120 of 179 possible regular season games in his career. Talking with reporters this week, Armstead said the 2023 campaign was the most challenging of his career, and he will have discussions with those close to him about his future. He said he still enjoys playing football, but the lower-body injuries have come in bunches. If he decides to hang up his cleats, the Dolphins will be left with a significant hole in their offensive line. He was named to the Pro Bowl this year and earned an 80.9 PPF grade.
Miami Dolphins left tackle Terron Armstead (ankle, knee) and safety Jevon Holland (knees) are both inactive on Monday night against the Tennessee Titans. Both players will sit out after being listed as questionable on the final Week 14 injury report. Offensive guard Robert Hunt (hamstring) is also out for the Dolphins offensive line, so their protection of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa against the Titans pass rush will be something to watch in this contest. Armstead injured his ankle in last week's win over the Washington Commanders and will be replaced at left tackle by Kendall Lamm. Holland, meanwhile, is missing his second straight game. Brandon Jones will start in Miami's secondary once again on Monday night.
