Jordan Westburg News
Baltimore Orioles infielder Jordan Westburg delivered the game-winning single in the bottom of the 11th inning to cap off a 4-for-5 day in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks. Westburg, whose batting average is now at .301, opened Saturday's scoring with an RBI double in the bottom of the second, now has hits in five straight games and comes into Sunday's play with six homers and 26 RBI to go along with a .867 OPS. Saturday's game-winner was his second walk-off hit of the season for Westburg, who came into the season without ever recording one in his entire career. The 25-year-old is off to a solid start in 2024, slashing .301/.345/.522 with six home runs, 26 RBI, 20 runs, and five stolen bases across 36 games.
Baltimore Orioles infielder Jordan Westburg (illness) is back in the starting lineup on Monday against the visiting New York Yankees after missing the series finale on Sunday against the Oakland Athletics with a stomach illness. Westburg is starting at second base and batting seventh against Yankees right-hander Clarke Schmidt. Fantasy managers will want to get the 25-year-old back into all starting fantasy lineups, as he's hit a strong .304/.360/.543 on the year with a .903 OPS, five home runs, 19 RBI and four stolen bases in 92 at-bats over his first 25 games played. Westburg isn't as attractive in DFS formats in the seven-hole. He has one hit in his two career at-bats against Schmidt.
Baltimore Orioles third baseman Jordan Westburg was mashing again on Sunday, going 2-for-3 with a homer and a triple in a 5-0 win over the Kansas City Royals. Westburg added a walk, a run scored, and two RBI to round out his line. The 25-year-old seems to be breaking out this season, slashing .333/.392/.639 with 14 runs, five homers, 18 RBI, and three steals. He has five-category upside and should be rostered in all leagues at this point.
