Austin Gauthier News
Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop prospect Austin Gauthier was promoted to Triple-A earlier this week and is already producing. In his third game with Triple-A Oklahoma City, the 25-year-old launched a solo shot which was his first at Triple-A and his fifth across the entire 2024 season. Through a small sample size at Triple-A, Gauthier posted an excellent .455/.600/.909 line with a stellar 4:2 BB:K ratio. With the way the 25th-ranked prospect in the Dodger system is swinging the bat, he could be making his major league debut sooner rather than later. Due to how fast he is approaching a promotion, he should be rostered in deeper dynasty formats and could become worth stashing in redraft leagues very soon.
Los Angeles Dodgers second base/shortstop prospect Austin Gauthier made his Triple-A debut on Tuesday. After performing very well at Double-A last season and in the early part of this year, he got the call to move up to Triple-A and is now quickly approaching his major league debut. Gauthier posted a stellar .280/.445/.488 line with four home runs and a 22:16 BB:K ratio in 24 games in Double-A this season. The 25th-ranked prospect in the Dodgers pipeline could make a push for a late season promotion, especially with his strong contact skills and elite plate discipline. When he is promoted, he could become worth adding in deeper redraft leagues.
Los Angeles Dodgers prospect Austin Gauthier is a talented infielder who signed with the club as an undrafted free agent in 2021. He has quickly made his mark within the lower levels of the organization thanks to his physical, aggressive style of play and ability to put the ball in play. He adds additional value by having a tendency to shoot the ball to all parts of the field. Defensively, Gauthier is a slick fielder with great instincts, though his range and arm will likely force him to eventually patrol second base. Gauthier is coming off a huge week in the minors in which he went 11-for-19 with four extra-base hits, eight RBI, nine walks, and four strikeouts. While he didn't show off a lot of power, he continued to prove that he can get on base by tallying hits and drawing walks. In fact, over this six-game span, he reached base in exactly two-thirds of his plate appearances. If this trend continues, Gauthier will climb through the ranks very quickly.
