Bobby Miller News
The Los Angeles Dodgers and right-hander Bobby Miller (shoulder) are hopeful he can begin throwing again within the next 5-7 days. If so, he could be back relatively quickly as he wouldn't need to completely build up from scratch. The 25-year-old began his 2024 season with six shutout innings with 11 strikeouts in a win over the Cardinals but has since yielded seven earned runs with seven strikeouts and five walks across only 5 2/3 innings across his last two outings. Nonetheless, he still owns a 3.14 SIERA and a 24% K-BB% on the young season and is a must-stash in any and all formats, especially since it appears he could be back sooner than later.
The Los Angeles Dodgers placed right-hander Bobby Miller (shoulder) on the 15-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation. The move is retroactive to April 11. Miller's injury is "not severe," and surgery is unnecessary. Miller has struggled this season, posting a 5.40 ERA, 1.46 WHIP, and 18 strikeouts over 11 2/3 innings. The 23-year-old will miss at least the 15-day minimum, but expect the Dodgers to be cautious with their young starter. The Dodgers have recalled Nick Ramirez and J.P. Feyereisen and placed Miller and Connor Brogdon on the injured list in a corresponding move. Miller was expected to start against the Washington Nationals next week, but it's unclear who will replace him in the rotation.
Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that right-hander Bobby Miller will start the team's second exhibition game in Korea on Monday against the Korean national team after the team goes with a bullpen game on Sunday versus the Kiwoom Heroes of the Korean Baseball Organization. The 24-year-old is on track to make his regular season debut against the St. Louis Cardinals on March 28 after Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Tyler Glasnow take the hill for the two-game series in Korea against the San Diego Padres on March 20-21. The former 29th overall pick by LA in 2020 out of Louisville really impressed in his rookie season in 2023 with a 3.76 ERA and 1.10 WHIP while walking 32 and striking out 119 in his first 22 starts. Miller has elite velocity and six different pitches to work with. He's ranked as RotoBaller's No. 22 fantasy starter in just his second MLB campaign.

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Bobby Miller had a rookie season most pitchers dream of. The former first-round pick compiled an 11-4 record of 22 starts with a 3.76 ERA and 3.51 FIP. With his pedigree and underlying metrics, it looks like Miller can at least duplicate his numbers from 2023 and possibly improve on them. His xERA of 3.40 was in the 81st percentile and he has numbers to prove that wasn't beginner's luck. His expected batting average was .229, his walk percent was two points better than the league average and he had a 47.7% groundball rate. The 24-year-old posted a .277 BABIP and 1.10 WHIP, showing he wasn't overly lucky at keeping runners off base, thus proving he should be able to repeat such a feat. The 10.7% HR/FB rate Miller posted also looks sustainable, thanks in part to his high groundball rate. He's ranked at 100 by RotoBaller and he's going around there, meaning he won't come overly cheap, but know he should return great value.
