Miles McBride News
New York Knicks guard Miles McBride will join the starting lineup for Tuesday's Game 5 against the Pacers. After grabbing a 2-0 lead in the series, the Knicks have dropped back-to-back games, and head coach Tom Thibodeau has decided to switch things up. McBride will take Precious Achiuwa's spot in the first unit. The 23-year-old has been in fine form this postseason, recording 9.8 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in 23.2 minutes.
New York Knicks guard Miles McBride logged a season-high 47 minutes in Sunday's 107-98 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers, collecting 16 points on 6-for-15 shooting, five assists, four three-pointers, and one rebound. Thrust into a ridiculous workload with Jalen Brunson (knee) hobbling off the court early, McBride came off the bench and didn't sit for the remainder of the contest following the All-Star's injury. Over McBride's four showings without Brunson in New York's lineup this season, the 23-year-old spot-up shooter is averaging 17.5 points, 4.8 dimes, 4.3 boards, 3.0 treys, and 1.5 steals in 42.2 minutes. With Brunson questionable at best for Tuesday's matchup versus the Atlanta Hawks, McBride is well worth a speculative add off fantasy waiver wires. The Hawks give up the second-most fantasy points to opposing shooting guards, and they are tied for the worst defensive efficiency rating (117.6).
New York Knicks guard Miles McBride will be with the organization for at least one more season. On Wednesday, the Knicks decided to pick up the $1.8 million team option on McBride. This seemed like a no-brainer for the Knicks with how well McBride played in limited action for the team. Last season, McBride only averaged 11.9 minutes per game, but the team was 20-5 in games where McBride played more than 15 minutes. The 22-year-old has hopefully earned himself a bigger role on the team going forward.
New York Knicks point guard Miles McBride had a strong Summer League game in the team's 102-89 win over the Orlando Magic on Thursday. He scored a team-high 23 points while adding five rebounds, five assists and three steals. He was efficient in the game, shooting 9-for-13 from the field and 4-for-5 from the free throw line. McBride has had a nice Summer League overall, averaging 16.8 points, 5.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game while committing just 2.3 turnovers per game. It's unlikely he'll break the team's rotation this year when the Knicks are healthy, but if he winds up being traded to a team with a less crowded backcourt, he could wind up being a fantasy contributor.
