Brandon Brooks News
Philadelphia Eagles right guard Brandon Brooks has announced his retirement from the NFL. The three-time Pro Bowl guard is most known for his time with the Philadelphia Eagles. Brooks also spent the first four years of his career with the Houston Texans. He won a Super Bowl with the Eagles and spent five seasons with the organization. Sadly, Brooks didn't get to offer much to the Eagles on the field in 2021. The 32-year-old suffered a pectoral strain during Week 2 and never was able to make it make to the field again in 2021. Brooks will go down as one of the best guards in Eagles franchise history. The injuries caught up to him during his last two seasons. Brooks was only able to play in two games over his last two seasons in Philly. Although, Eagles fans will remember him for his three consecutive Pro Bowl appearances that helped them win a Super Bowl.
Philadelphia Eagles offensive guard Brandon Brooks (chest) will miss several weeks and is being placed on the injured reserve list with a pectoral muscle strain. It was initially feared that it was a full muscle tear, but this injury is not considered to be season-ending. Landon Dickerson played 33 snaps in his absence, and he will likely be the starter next Monday night when the Eagles take on the Dallas Cowboys. The loss of Brooks could lead to Miles Sanders seeing some smaller running lanes, but the fantasy value of the former Penn State standout shouldn't be changed drastically. As for Jalen Hurts, a downgrade at the offensive line position is not an ideal scenario for a quarterback, but his rushing ability should make up for any trouble he has as a passer.
Philadelphia Eagles right guard Brandon Brooks tore his left Achilles tendon on Monday while working out at the team's complex and will miss the entire 2020 season, according to sources. It's a huge blow to an elite offensive line. The loss of Brooks may cause the Eagles to seriously consider re-signing Pro Bowl tackle Jason Peters. Brooks tore his right Achilles in the 2018 Divisional playoff round against the Saints and rehabbed that injury in time to start the 2019 season. He made his third straight Pro Bowl last year and played at the highest level of his career. Brooks will turn 31 in August. He also had surgery this offseason on his shoulder after dislocating it in the regular season finale. The loss of Brooks is bad news for Miles Sanders, but Philly's offensive line is still strong enough to open plenty of holes for the second-year running back.
