Daryl Williams News
The Buffalo Bills agreed to terms on a three-year deal worth up to $28.2 million ($9.4 million average) with offensive tackle Daryl Williams on Friday, according to sources. The deal includes nearly $14 million in guaranteed money. Williams came to Buffalo last year after spending five seasons with the Carolina Panthers. He started 18 total games, including the playoffs, in his first year in Buffalo and was one of their key pieces along the offensive line in helping keep quarterback Josh Allen protected. The six-year veteran has started 61 of 79 career games in the NFL, including the postseason. He was a second-team All-Pro in 2017 and was drafted by Carolina in the fourth round back in 2015.
The Carolina Panthers re-signed offensive tackle Daryl Williams to a one-year, $7 million deal on Wednesday, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The 26-year-old is one of the better tackles in the NFL but is coming off a knee injury that held him to just one game last year. Williams was a second-team All-Pro in 2017 and his re-signing is definitely good news for quarterback Cam Newton and Pro Bowl running back Christian McCaffrey.
The Carolina Panthers placed right tackle Daryl Williams (knee) on Injured Reserve on Wednesday. He's expected to have surgery after injuring his right knee in the season opener against Dallas. Williams also tore his MCL and dislocated his patella on the same knee in the preseason. With Matt Kalil also hurt, this is bad news for a weak Panthers offensive line. It's not good for the team's rushing attack this early in the year. The offensive line could also have serious problems protecting quarterback Cam Newton.
