Derrick Willies News
The Cleveland Browns placed rookie wide receiver Derrick Willies (collarbone) on Injured Reserve on Saturday after he broke his collarbone in practice on Friday. Breshad Perriman was signed to the active roster in a corresponding move. It's a tough break for Willies, as he made an impact in the team's Week 5 overtime win and was likely to see an increased role with Rashard Higgins out two to four weeks. Rookie Antonio Callaway is the No. 2 behind Jarvis Landry, with rookie Damion Ratley, Rod Streater and Perriman adding depth. Callaway's ceiling goes up a little, but the Browns may still prefer to limit his snaps as he learns.
Cleveland Browns wide receiver Derrick Willies (collarbone) fractured his collarbone in practice on Friday and has been ruled out for Week 6 against the Chargers. Willies will be re-evaluated next week. Willies was in line to see more snaps after serving as a hero late in the Week 5 overtime win over the Ravens. With him out, Jarvis Landry and rookie Antonio Callaway are locked in as the top two wideouts, with Rod Streater likely serving as the No. 3 with Rashard Higgins out multiple weeks. Tight end David Njoku could also be heavily involved this Sunday.
Cleveland Browns wide receiver Derrick Willies (shoulder) fell on his shoulder in practice on Friday and was limited, and he's now questionable for Week 6 against the Chargers. The Browns are also without Rashard Higgins for two to four weeks, so Rod Streater might have to fill in as the third wideout on Sunday. Jarvis Landry, rookie Antonio Callaway and tight end David Njoku could be in line for more targets this weekend.
