Josh Wells News
The Jacksonville Jaguars signed former Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive lineman Josh Wells to an undisclosed deal earlier this week, according to the team. The 32-year-old spent the last four seasons with the Buccaneers after starting his career with the Jaguars in 2014 as an undrafted free agent. Wells spent five years in Jacksonville before heading to Tampa. He has spent time working as both a left tackle and right tackle in the NFL, primarily playing right tackle for the Bucs. He played in 11 games (seven starts) for Tampa last year and ended the season on Injured Reserve due to a torn patellar tendon in Week 16. It's unclear when he'll be able to return, but he'll give the Jags more depth at both tackle spots.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive tackle Josh Wells (knee) won't return to Sunday's meeting with the Arizona Cardinals. The 31-year-old injured his knee in the first half and was taken off the field on a cart. The Bucs offensive line has been banged up periodically throughout the 2022-23 campaign, which isn't ideal for 45-year-old Tom Brady and the rest of the offense. Brandon Walton came in and should hold things down at the position for the rest of the night.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive tackle Josh Wells (calf) exited their Week 2 game against the Saints early with a groin injury. At the time, there was concern about the severity of the injury, but on Tuesday they received some positive news that it is not expected to be a long-term injury and will not end his season. Overall, this is good news for the team given that their O-line is already extremely banged up, however, even missing a game or two will further exasperate their struggles in the meantime. Tom Brady has been under a lot of pressure and the offense as a whole has been unable to sustain drives. Next up is the Packers on Sunday, which is a highly anticipated matchup.
