Laquon Treadwell News
The Baltimore Ravens waived wide receiver Laquon Treadwell and placed defensive back Damarion Williams (undisclosed) on Injured Reserve on Monday. Treadwell has bounced around from the team's practice squad and the 53-man roster in 2023. The 28-year-old former first-rounder only appeared in five games with Baltimore and had one reception on three targets for 16 yards in the Week 18 regular season finale against the Pittsburgh Steelers when the Ravens were resting a lot of their regulars. Williams began the 2023 season on Injured Reserve after having ankle surgery. He was activated from IR before Week 15 but was inactive for the next three games before finally making his season debut in Week 18.
Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Laquon Treadwell found paydirt on Saturday night during the team's 20-26 loss in their final preseason game. The 28-year-old registered 33 yards on two catches and one score. Treadwell was the lone receiver with a touchdown in this game while catching both of his targets. He was competing with the likes of James Proche II, Tylan Wallace, and Dontay Demus Jr. for the sixth receiver spot on the roster. If Treadwell does make it on the roster, he would be a very deep bench piece that wouldn't make him fantasy-relevant.
The Baltimore Ravens agreed to terms on an undisclosed one-year deal with former Minnesota Vikings first-round wide receiver Laquon Treadwell on Monday, according to his agent, Michael Portner. The Ravens continue to beef up their receiving depth heading into the 2023 season, but Treadwell is likely to be buried on the depth chart. The 27-year-old caught just six of 10 targets for 42 yards in six games for the Seattle Seahawks in 2022, a year after posting 33 receptions for a career-high 434 yards and a touchdown in 12 games (seven starts) for Jacksonville in 2021. Treadwell is unlikely to have any kind of fantasy appeal, even in deeper leagues, while he's behind the likes of Rashod Bateman, Odell Beckham Jr. and rookie first-rounder Zay Flowers. He'll have to compete with Devin Duvernay, Nelson Agholor and James Proche II, among others.
