Scotty Miller News
Former Atlanta Falcons free-agent wide receiver Scotty Miller is reuniting with Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Arthur Smith on an undisclosed one-year deal on Wednesday, according to a source. Smith was the head coach in Atlanta to begin last season before getting fired. In 17 games with the Falcons last year, Miller caught 11 of his 16 targets for 161 yards and two touchdowns. While he will reunite with Smith, the 26-year-old pass-catcher will merely operate as receiving depth in Pittsburgh behind George Pickens, Van Jefferson, rookie Roman Wilson and Calvin Austin III. The 26-year-old speedster has a total of 85 catches on 144 targets for 1,085 receiving yards and six touchdowns in 67 games (eight starts) over his five seasons in the NFL. He was originally a sixth-round pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2019 out of Bowling Green.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers free-agent wide receiver Scotty Miller agreed to an undisclosed one-year deal with the Atlanta Falcons on Wednesday, according to a source. Miller will stay in the NFC South after spending the first four years of his NFL career with the Buccaneers. In his four seasons with the team, he caught 74 of his 128 targets for 924 yards and four touchdowns in 50 regular season games (eight starts). The 25-year-old former sixth-rounder in 2019 had 23 receptions for 185 yards in 15 regular season games on 40 targets in 2022. He was buried on Tampa's receiver depth chart behind Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Julio Jones and Russell Gage, so the move to Atlanta should allow him to have a bigger role, although it won't necessarily make him a big fantasy weapon.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receivers Breshad Perriman (knee) and Scotty Miller are both inactive on Sunday night against the Kansas City Chiefs. Perriman came into the Week 4 contest doubtful to play, while Miller will be a healthy scratch with Chris Godwin (hamstring) and Julio Jones (knee) returning to action. Tight end Kyle Rudolph will also be a healthy scratch for another game, while left tackle Donovan Smith (elbow) is active for the first time since getting injured in the season opener. Quarterback Tom Brady will have his top three receivers back for the first time since Week 1, and he'll need them to keep up with the Chiefs explosive offense.
