Jake Oettinger News
Dallas Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger will aim to bounce back in Wednesday's Game 2 against the Vegas Golden Knights. He had a very rough start to the series, allowing three first-period goals in Game 1. The team eventually lost 4-3 on home ice, with Oettinger producing only 11 saves. The result dropped Oettinger's career postseason record to 13-14. Dallas will need a much better performance from him on Wednesday to keep pace with the defending champions. Oettinger has lost back-to-back starts just twice in 2024.
Dallas Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger posted his 30th win of the campaign in style on Saturday, registering a shutout in a 3-0 road win over Seattle. He needed to make only 17 saves to get his second shutout of the season. Oettinger has become the first Stars netminder with three consecutive 30-win seasons since Marty Turco had a six-year run at the beginning of the century. The 25-year-old is on a five-game winning streak, which has taken his record to 30-13-4. Oettinger's goals-against average has dropped to 2.87 this season, and he has a less-than-impressive .900 save percentage, but Dallas' No. 1 has been a consistent source of wins for fantasy managers. He will attempt to continue his current winning run in a tough matchup against Connor McDavid and the Oilers on Wednesday.
Dallas Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger stopped 47-of-48 shots on goal in Tuesday's 2-1 victory against the Sabres. Oettinger's 47-save performance is a career high in the regular season, surpassing his previous high of 46 saves. The 25-year-old has picked up a win in four consecutive starts, while beginning the second half of the season on a positive note. Oettinger improves to a record of 17-9-2 to go along with a 2.96 goals against average, a .905 save percentage and one shutout through 29 appearances.
Dallas Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger (groin) will return to the lineup for Friday night's clash with the Nashville Predators. The young netminder hasn't seen action since injuring his groin in a Dec. 15 contest against the Ottawa Senators. However, it's unclear if Oettinger will get the starting nod against the Predators on Friday, as the Stars are also in action on Saturday versus the Chicago Blackhawks. It's been a down season for the 25-year-old, who sports a 2.93 goals-against average and a .901 save percentage across 21 games, a far cry from the 2.37 GAA and .919 save percentage he turned in across a hefty 62 appearances a season ago. If he doesn't go Friday, Scott Wedgewood would get the nod with Oettinger going Saturday in Chicago.
