Jorge Polanco News
Seattle Mariners catcher/designated hitter Mitch Garver (back) and second baseman Jorge Polanco (hamstring) are both out of the lineup on Wednesday against the visiting Kansas City Royals. Garver was scratched from Tuesday's lineup due to back spasms and will miss his second straight game. Polanco will also sit out for the second day in a row due to a tight right hamstring. Mitch Haniger is the DH and is hitting third on Wednesday, with Josh Rojas at second base and batting leadoff against Royals right-hander Alec Marsh. Luke Raley is in right field and is batting fifth. Fantasy managers should consider both Garver and Polanco day-to-day and check back to see if they are back in the lineup on Friday for the series opener against the Orioles in Baltimore. Rojas doesn't have much power but has been swinging a hot bat this year with a .333 average (36-for-108) with three homers, eight RBI and four stolen bases.
Seattle Mariners second baseman Jorge Polanco (hamstring) is absent from the starting lineup ahead of Tuesday's game against the Kansas City Royals. The Mariners will hold out Polanco after he made an early exit from Monday's game due to a hamstring issue. For now, fantasy managers should consider Polanco as day-to-day. In his absence, Josh Rojas will bat leadoff and cover second base for Tuesday's game. Rojas has been hitting well in the leadoff spot, so he could be an interesting streaming option here.
Seattle Mariners second baseman Jorge Polanco (hamstring) exited Monday's game against the Royals in the fifth inning with right hamstring tightness, per the team's Twitter account. Polanco went 1-for-2 with a single, a walk, and a strikeout before being replaced in the field by Luis Urias. Fantasy managers should look for further updates on Polanco's status once the game has ended. The 30-year-old has struggled with injuries throughout his career, so hopefully this one will not be serious.

Seattle Mariners second baseman Jorge Polanco has endured back-to-back injury-plagued seasons as a bad knee has capped his fantasy value of late. However, there has been absolutely nothing wrong with his production when on the field. The 30-year-old has hit .244 with 30 home runs, seven stolen bases, a 12.7% BB%, and a .768 OPS across 184 games over the last two seasons, excellent totals for a player dealing with a knee issue. After playing in just 30 games prior to the All-Star break in 2023, Polanco posted an .817 OPS with nine homers and three steals in just 50 games after the break, good for a tidy 128 wRC+. Projected to hit third in the Mariners' order, Polanco is projected for 21 homers, six steals, 65 runs, and 68 RBI across 125 games in 2024. If he can stay healthy (and exceed the games played projection) he is offering fantastic value at the second-base position with an undervalued 253.17 ADP.
