DraftKings DFS Showdown: Bills vs. Dolphins

DraftKings DFS Showdown

The Week 2 TNF game is a  divisional one between two teams looking to get an early edge in the AFC East. The Buffalo Bills head to Hard Rock Stadium to face the Miami Dolphins with plenty of options to choose from for your DFS teams. Below are my best plays for Week 2 of TNF from two high-powered offensive NFL teams.

Captain

WR Tyreek Hill ($17,400)

For obvious reasons, the most expensive caption option for TNF is the Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill. After a very different commute to the stadium, Hill continued where he left off last season, having 130 receiving yards and one touchdown against Jacksonville on Sunday (29.0 FP). He continued his dominant target share, being targeted 12 times, making seven of them. His touchdown was an 80-yard score, which is the upside Hill can give you, alongside his high number of targets. He is the obvious choice as captain if you believe the Dolphins are the better offensive option.

QB Josh Allen ($16,500)

It won’t surprise DFS players that Bills quarterback Josh Allen is the second most expensive captain choice. Allen acquired the most fantasy points in Week 1 amongst quarterbacks (32.2 FP), thanks mainly to his two passing touchdowns and two rushing touchdowns. Even if he doesn’t add any scores on the ground, he offers a high ceiling as a passer, making him a good option as a captain pick.

WR Keon Coleman ($8,700)

A cheaper option at captain that helps you fit in the top two players is Bills wide receiver Keon Coleman. The rookie had the most targets in the passing game (5), making four receptions for 51 yards. The confidence Josh Allen has in his rookie wide receiver after game one is clear to see. He was a touchdown away from a decent Week 1 score. He is definitely a player to consider as captain or in the FLEX positions.

FLEX

RB James Cook ($9,o00)

James Cook continued as the clear No.1 running back for the Bills in Week 1. He carried the ball 19 times for 71 rushing yards and had three receptions for 32 yards. He finished with 13.3 FP in the game, with Josh Allen having the two rushing touchdowns eating into his points. The Dolphins allowed 4.9 yards a carry to the Jacksonville ground game, making Cook a value pick in this game.

WR Jaylen Waddle ($8,600)

Miami has two high-powered wide receivers, with Jayden Waddle as the second, alongside Tyreek Hill. Waddle was a touchdown away from being close to Hill’s fantasy total, having five receptions for 109 receiving yards. He only had five targets, but he had numerous games with more, and he also can rip off big chunk plays, like his 63-yard play against Jacksonville. A WR stack with Hill is always a play to consider.

QB Tua Tagovailoa ($9,400)

The difference between hitting 30+ fantasy points was a couple more touchdowns for quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. He threw for 338 passing yards but just one touchdown, resulting in 21.6 fantasy points. Having the likes of Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle gives Tua a high ceiling as a DFS player, alongside passes to his running back core.

WR Khalil Shakir ($6,200)

Khalil Shakir was projected to see an uptick in production in 2024 with the departure of Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis during the off-season. He may have only been targeted three times, but two came in the red zone, one resulting in a touchdown. If the Bills and Allen get involved in the high-scoring shoot-out, which has happened in these games, Shakir could see plenty more targets in Week 2.

RB Jeff Wilson Jr. ($2,400)

Miami could be without both running backs, De’Von Achane and Raheem Mostert, who are carrying injuries and are listed as questionable on a short week. Jeff Wilson Jr. had five carries in Week 1 and was more productive than Achane and Mostert, averaging 5.2 yards per carry. If one of the running backs fails to suit up, Wilson is a good option and frees up plenty of money.
