Fantasy Football Buy Low / Sell High: Week 7

Buy Low / Sell High

Yesterday was a firestorm in the NFL, with three trades that will make immediate impacts – Davante Adams to the Jets, Amari Cooper to the Bills, and Cam Akers to the Vikings. Akers is familiar with the Vikings from his brief time there. This is a green flag; Chandler averages 3.7YPC and has only found the endzone once. With Aaron Jones uncertain, they need depth. Akers could be a cheap trade target for you or a bench stash if on the waivers. Last week, I had Cooper as a buy-low candidate because all signs pointed to him being traded. Every second matters, and here, we want you to succeed. This is another list of moves to make and boast your team, as the NFL teams are doing now.

Buy Low

DK Metcalf, WR – SEA

It’s tough for fantasy managers to remember he was a league winner in the championship game in 2021. Week 16, 2021: 63 yards and three touchdowns, blowing the Lions out of the water and my fantasy dreams pushing me to 2nd place that season. Metcalf hasn’t seen a TD in three weeks, and in his last two games, he finished with 48 and 55 yards. The Seattle offense is taking shape with Walker back, and this is the best time to acquire one of the most physically dominant WRs in the league. Remember, he had a 52-yard TD called back that was negated by a penalty, a toe out of bounds on another TD catch, and a 49-yard TD barely overthrown his head, all in the same game.

Jake Ferguson, TE – DAL

After last week’s blowout and the turmoil in Dallas, I want to take a shot here. Ferg is on a bye, and this offense still has high passing potential despite their defense lacking right now. He was TE 9 on the season last year, and Cooks is on IR. He is currently 4th in the NFL for TE targets on the season. You can buy his talent for less than his value right now.

Trevor Lawrence, QB – JAX

Lawrence and his golden locks are about to go on a pretty easy stretch of schedule the rest of the way. If you need help at quarterback, I am all in on Lawrence as a filler right now. In his last three games, he has thrown for two touchdowns. The WR core is healthy, and Tank Bisby has been filling in for an injured Etienne. After he faces the Pats, it may be difficult to buy him cheap.

Sell High

Bijan Robinson, RB – ATL

This isn’t because I think Robinson will be bad or unusable for the rest of the season. It’s because so many individuals draft with the zero RB strategy, and chances are some league-mates are sitting on a plethora of top-tier WRs and struggling to find RB help. There is no better time to take Robinson, remove the worry of Tyler Allgeier stealing work, and get yourself a WR1 today. Package him with a lesser player and get two studs if possible.

Deebo Samuel, WR – SF

A 76-yard TD saved Samuel, but his three catches are concerning. Ricky Pearsall is back after being shot, Aiyuk won’t always be a lame duck, Kittle will get his, and the RB committee is a carousel of success. I love Deebo, but I am moving him if I can get a solid piece to secure a playoff birth for my team.

Mark Andrew, TE – BAL

You are selling the name people remember on the draft boards back in August/September. Even if he succeeds and becomes a top-tier TE for the rest of the season, you are looking to sell him high and get you a player for your team to become better. We TEs are challenging to come by, and so is the TE prediction for the Ravens of who scores this week. Let him go and get the best value you can while the commodity is hot.

Ryan Pickard
My name is Ryan Pickard, and my friends call me ‘Pick-Six.’ I am a father of three, and football is my ultimate passion. Gaming is a close second. When not working as a Dealer Business Manager in Atlantic Canada, I write and research fantasy football. Out of all 32 NFL teams, the Tampa Bay Bucs became my team. It started as a joke so I could play my friends fairly in Madden. I believe in positivity and finding ways to make things happen. “The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little extra.”-Jimmy Johnson.
