Rockies Acquire Alec Barger
The Colorado Rockies have acquired minor league reliever Alec Barger from the Atlanta Braves in exchange for left-hander Brad Hand, according to Robert Murray of FanSided. Barger is a 25-year-old who has yet to surpass the Double-A level. Nevertheless, he has delivered decent results this season, including a 3.49 FIP, 11.27 K/9, 0.47 HR/9, and 43.5 GB%. The right-hander needs to cut down on walks but otherwise has the makings of a decent depth reliever in the future.
