Colorado Rockies pitcher Harrison Musgrave was sent back to Triple-A Albuquerque in the corresponding move to allow the team to activate Scott Oberg from the paternity list. Musgrave has been quite ineffective at the big league level this season, posting a 5.08 ERA with a 6.15 K/9 and 4.54 BB/9. Musgrave has worked as a starter in the minors this year, but he's expected to work out of the bullpen in this trip to the lower league so that he can prepare for a September recall to Colorado.
Colorado Rockies relief pitcher Harrison Musgrave has been activated from the disabled list. Pitcher Chris Rusin was placed on the DL in a corresponding move. Musgrave had been out since July 13 with a hip injury. On the season, Musgrave has pitched to a 4.76 ERA and a 20/16 K/BB ratio over 20 relief appearances. He's expected to continue pitching in middle relief and holds no fantasy value at the moment. He should remain on the waiver wire.
Colorado Rockies relief pitcher Harrison Musgrave was placed on the 10-day disabled list due to a strained hip flexor after he pitched three innings against the Mariners on Saturday. Musgrave labored through the appearance, allowing three earned runs while striking out no one, so the injury isn't terribly surprising. Like just about everyone else in the Rockies bullpen, Musgrave has struggled this season with a variety of meltdowns mixed amongst a few solid outings. With the All-Star break happening now, Musgrave is only expected to miss one series with Arizona. Lefty Sam Howard was recalled in the meantime.
