The Miami Marlins recalled right-hander Jordan Holloway from Triple-A Jacksonville on Thursday, and he's likely to be the team's bulk reliever after Anthony Bender opens against the San Diego Padres. Right-hander Nick Neidert was optioned to Jacksonville after a successful spot start on Wednesday night. Holloway has been great for the Marlins this year, posting a 3.00 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 31 strikeouts in 11 outings (three starts) over 30 innings pitched. The 25-year-old isn't a terrible low-cost streaming option, but the matchup is a tough one, and his 13.6 percent walk rate could also get him in trouble eventually. But Holloway has a nice hard-hit percentage of just 29.9 on the season and has been flying under the radar.

Jordan Holloway Has An Excellent Outing On Friday
Miami Marlins rookie pitcher Jordan Holloway was excellent on Friday, tossing five innings of scoreless relief, allowing just two walks, no hits. He struck out six and earned the win, improving to 2-2 and lowering his ERA to 3.00. He set a Marlins franchise record, becoming the first Marlin to throw five innings of hitless relief. Holloway has been fantastic coming out of the bullpen and awful as a starter. With 2020 Manager of the Year Don Mattingly at the helm, we'll likely see Holloway as a starter again soon.

Jordan Holloway Optioned To Minors
Miami Marlins pitcher Jordan Holloway has been optioned to Triple-A Jacksonville on Thursday. It's not a shocking move considering he did throw over four innings during Wednesday's contest. Holloway was excellent, tossing 4 1/3 scoreless innings and struck out six batters. Holloway has struggled as a starter, but appears to be a legit option out of the bullpen. Possibly, Miami has Holloway return after the break, which could eventually lead to higher leverage situations out of the bullpen. In the meantime, right-hander Nick Neidert has been recalled from the minors.

Jordan Holloway Shines Out Of The Bullpen On Wednesday
Miami Marlins rookie pitcher Jordan Holloway was excellent out of the bullpen in Wednesday's win over the Los Angeles Dodgers. In a Don Mattingly managed bullpen game, Holloway followed opener Ross Detwiler after Detwiler was left in to give up five runs in just 2 2/3 innings. Holloway settled everything down immediately though, and provided 4 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing just two hits while striking out six. Holloway has been excellent coming out of the bullpen but awful as a member of the starting rotation. One would think he would continue to come out of the bullpen, but this is a Mattingly-managed team, so who knows? Holloway has a bright future as a late-inning reliever if he's used properly.

Jordan Holloway Lands On 10-Day Injured List
Miami Marlins pitcher Jordan Holloway (groin) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Saturday. Holloway left Friday's matchup against the Mets due to groin soreness, forcing the team to utilize 10 pitchers in total during the 12-inning affair. The 24-year-old has been somewhat reliable during the 2021 campaign and currently sits on a 2.55 ERA and 14 strikeouts throughout 17 innings of work. However, with uncertainty surrounding his role with the team, fantasy managers without room to spare can drop him.

Jordan Holloway Leaves Friday’s Game
Miami Marlins pitcher Jordan Holloway (groin) exited Friday's matchup against the New York Mets. The 24-year-old lasted just one inning before leaving with groin soreness, allowing no hits while striking out a batter. This wasn't good news for the team as they were hoping for a marathon outing from the righty, and it's equally unwelcome news for fantasy managers who have had him on the roster looking to fill a void due to injury. Although his status is day-to-day, he may not be on the bump for the foreseeable future.

Jordan Holloway Stumbles After A Good Start
Miami Marlins rookie pitcher Jordan Holloway got off to a great start on Saturday but couldn't Make it out of the third inning. Holloway's first three innings were excellent: he allowed two walks in the first inning but nothing else and no hits. Everything fell apart in the fourth inning, as he couldn't get anyone out and ended up allowing two more walks, two hits, and two earned runs. Holloway was excellent coming out of the bullpen earlier in the season, and it's obvious that his future is as a relief pitcher.

Jordan Holloway Struggles In His First Big League Start
Miami Marlins rookie pitcher Jordan Holloway struggled in his first major league start on Monday. Holloway had been working out of the bullpen for Miami and was pitching extremely well, which earned him a spot in the starting rotation. Things didn't go nearly as well for him as a starter though, as he made it through just 3 2/3 innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on five hits and three walks while only recording one strikeout. Holloway was having a hard time locating his pitches, either missing the corners by a lot for a ball, or splitting the plate with middle-middle fastballs. He may get another chance to start in five days, but Holloway's future seems to be as a bullpen asset.

Jordan Holloway Earns His First Big League Win
Miami Marlins rookie pitcher Jordan Holloway pitched well on Wednesday and earned the first win of his major league career. Holloway came in to pitch second in a bullpen game for the Marlins and contributed three scoreless innings, allowing just two hits and two walks while striking out three. Holloway has been excellent in his 10 innings so far this season, striking out 10 and not yet allowing a run. He could get a chance to start the next time the Marlins need an arm in the rotation.

Jordan Holloway Shines In Relief On Monday
Miami Marlins rookie right-handed pitcher Jordan Holloway was called up to the team earlier on Monday and then appeared in Monday evening's game against the St. Louis Cardinals. He was excellent, pitching two perfect innings with three strikeouts. Holloway was called up when the Marlins placed Garrett Cooper (vaccination side effects) and Elieser Hernandez (bicep) on the injured list. It's unclear who will take Hernandez's place in the starting rotation, but Holloway was working as a starter at the alternate site and was mentioned as a possibility by manager Don Mattingly. Nick Neidert is more likely to make the start next time the rotation spot comes around, but Holloway is worth keeping an eye on as a possible streamer.
