The Seattle Mariners have made several roster moves Thursday, adding minor league outfielders Julio Rodriguez and Alberto Rodriguez and left-handed pitcher Ray Kerr to their 40-man roster. They now have filled 39 spots. Julio Rodriguez is by far the biggest name of the three, and the move is intended to protect him and both other players from the upcoming Rule 5 draft. Rodriguez could make an impact at the big-league level as soon as 2022, and general manager Jerry Dipoto has stated that there is "no scenario" in which Rodriguez (or several other top prospects) are moved this offseason. The 20-year-old slashed .347/.441/.560 with 13 homers and 21 steals in 74 games across two levels in 2021. Dynasty managers should already have him rostered.

Julio Rodriguez Hits First Double-A Homer
Seattle Mariners prospect Julio Rodriguez doesn't seem to be fazed by the promotion from High-A to Double-A. The 20-year-old outfielder hit his first Double-A home run on Friday during the initial game of a doubleheader that saw him go 1-for-2 with two walks and three runs driven in. He then followed that up with a 3-for-3 performance with another free pass in the second game. Rodriguez now has a triple-slash line of .429/.556/.714 through his first four games at the new level. Prior to his promotion, he produced a 172 wRC+ with six home runs, five steals, and a .325 batting average in 28 games. Rodriguez is ranked by Rotoballer as the third-best prospect in dynasty baseball behind Wander Franco and Jarred Kelenic.

Julio Rodriguez Has Two Hits In Double-A Debut
Seattle Mariners prospect Julio Rodriguez went 2-for-5 with a double and two strikeouts on Tuesday. The 20-year-old was recently promoted to Double-A after producing a 171 wRC+ in 28 games at the High-A level. He also produced six home runs, five steals, and a 10% walk rate. Rodriguez is neck-and-neck with Jarred Kelenic for the top prospect in the Mariners system. Rotoballer has him ranked as the third-best dynasty prospect in baseball behind Tampa Bay's Wander Franco and Kelenic both of whom could lose their rookie eligibilities by 2022. That would then push Rodriguez to the top of the pack due to his advanced bat and impressive raw power.

Julio Rodriguez Promoted To Double-A
Seattle Mariners outfielder Julio Rodriguez has been promoted to Double-A Arkansas. The No. 5 overall prospect in baseball hit .325/.410/.581 with six home runs and five stolen bases for High-A Everett to earn the promotion. Rodriguez recently helped the Dominican Republic qualify for the 2021 Olympics as well. The 20-year-old has played both center and right field but is more suited for a corner outfield spot in the future. He has the skills and athleticism to become a superstar in the majors next to Jarred Kelenic in Seattle. The big, physical outfielder has an advanced approach from the right side of the plate and impressive raw power. Despite his young age, Rodriguez has a real shot to make his major league debut as early as 2022 if he continues to impress down on the farm.

Julio Rodriguez Keeps Getting Better, Has Four Hits At High-A
Seattle Mariners outfielder Julio Rodriguez did not miss a step after returning from helping the Dominican Republic at the Olympic qualifying tournament. The 20-year-old outfielder went 4-for-4 with a double and a home run on Wednesday. The long ball was his sixth of the season. Rodriguez now has a 189 wRC+ through 23 games at the High-A level. He has also provided a patient approach with a 10% walk rate. The young outfielder has never hit below .293 in any season and, with a current .344 average, he looks ready for the next challenge. He should be a top dynasty target and could be ready to impact redraft leagues as soon as 2022.

Julio Rodriguez Homers In Four Straight At High-A
Seattle Mariners outfielder Julio Rodriguez has been absolutely tearing it up at High-A Everett, homering in his fourth straight game Sunday. Rodriguez is now in the midst of a ten-game hit streak, slashing .353/.441/.784 over his first 12 games. Rodriguez is expected to spend most of the year at Double-A, but manager Scott Servais and general manager Jerry DiPoto have not set any limits for Rodriguez's ascension. If he were to make it to the majors, the fifth ranked prospect in all of baseball per MLB Pipleline would be more than worthy of an add, especially in keeper and dynasty formats.

Julio Rodriguez Out With Illness
Seattle Mariners outfield prospect Julio Rodriguez (illness) is out of the lineup for a second consecutive day as he deals with a non-Covid illness. One of the Mariners' top prospects, Rodriguez performed well in spring training, posting a .984 OPS with two home runs and three stolen bases, but he is not expected to reach the major leagues in 2021. Rodriguez is only 20, but he should be a priority for fantasy managers in dynasty leagues.

Julio Rodriguez Has Two Hits, Timetable Accelerating
Seattle Mariners outfielder Julio Rodriguez went 2-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base on Thursday. While a lot of the hype has been about Jarred Kelenic this spring, the 20-year-old Dominican native is now 10-for-30 (.333) with two home runs, three steals, and a BB-K of 6-10 this spring. Rodriguez has seen his development impacted by injuries and he has yet to officially play above A-ball. However, he has an advanced approach and polished tools for his age although he's still learning to consistently tap into his raw power. He should be ready to settle in at the MLB level by 2022. He's ranked by Rotoballer as the fourth-best prospect in baseball, three spots behind his teammate Kelenic.

Julio Rodriguez Homers, Doubles On Tuesday
Seattle Mariners outfielder Julio Rodriguez went 2-for-3 with a double and his first spring home run on Tuesday. The 20-year-old rookie is now 7-for-22 (.318) with three extra-base hits and two stolen bases through 12 games. His appearance on Tuesday broke a string of six straight games with at least one strikeout. Overall, Rodriguez has a BB-K of 4-9 this spring which suggests he may need a little more minor-league seasoning before settling in at the MLB level. He spent the 2020 season at the Mariners' alternate training site. Rodriguez is ranked by Rotoballer as the second-best outfield prospect and the fifth-best prospect overall for dynasty baseball leagues.

Julio Rodriguez Could Appear In The Majors This Year
Seattle Mariners outfield prospect Julio Rodriguez is only 20 years old, and yet it's possible that he could make his big-league debut for the Mariners in 2021. The right-handed outfielder has been in the news recently for the most unfortunate of reasons, having been unfairly criticized for his English skills by the now-ousted Mariners CEO Kevin Mather. If and when he makes his debut, he'll be known for his prodigious bat. Back in his last game action in 2018, the then-18-year-old Rodriguez lit up High-A competition to the tune of a .390 on-base percentage and .540 slugging percentage. It's a long way from High-A to the majors, but following Mather's resignation, the pressure is now on Seattle to promote their young players. If Rodriguez is able to prove he's ready, he could bring some much-needed pop to Seattle's lineup. If he's available in keeper/dynasty formats, Rodriguez needs to be added ASAP.
