Mac Sceroler Standing Out Early
Baltimore Orioles rookie relief pitcher Mac Sceroler, who was a Rule 5 draft pick from the Cincinnati Reds over the winter, was thrust into the spotlight against New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge with the bases loaded in his Major League debut at Yankee Stadium over the weekend. Sceroler struck out Judge and retired the first seven Yankees batters he faced. The right-hander has a plus splitter and a fastball with top-10 rise (by 2019 statistics) and a curveball with top-30 drop. However, Sceroler has pitched in just one game so far, so we'll need to see a lot more from this youngster before really jumping on the bandwagon. The Orioles bullpen has plenty of opportunity with Hunter Harvey on the 60-day injured list.
