Kansas City Royals rookie catcher Meibrys Viloria came through with a critical double against Noah Syndergaard on Friday to help the Royals win against the Mets. Viloria's key hit came when KC was trailing, and he would go on to score the eventual winning run when Nicky Lopez knocked him in. Viloria is a light-hitting Double-A prospect for the Royals, but since he got called up, he's impressed a bit. Having safely hit in 11 of 16 games so far, Viloria has already racked up four doubles. It's unlikely that Viloria is going to turn into much this season, but if he can keep stroking the ball like this, he could be a perfect short-term pickup for a team trying to make the playoffs.
