Chicago White Sox outfielder Micker Adolfo (elbow), the team's No. 8 prospect per MLB Pipeline, will need arthroscopic elbow surgery that will knock him out for the rest of the 2019 season. Adolfo also had Tommy John surgery in 2018. General manager Rick Hahn said the team expects Adolfo to be without restrictions in spring training next year. He has a strong bat and the best outfield arm in Chicago's system, but he's now been robbed of developmental time the last two years. Adolfo has played in just 102 games in the last two seasons at High-A Winston-Salem and Double-A Birmingham. He's just one to watch in dynasty leagues for now.
Chicago White Sox outfield prospect Micker Adolfo (elbow) will undergo Tommy John surgery and will be out for eight to 10 months. It's a tough blow for the team's No. 10 ranked prospect, per MLB.com. He was hitting a solid .283 with 11 home runs, 50 RBI and 48 runs scored in 78 games for High-A Carolina this season. This will surely delay his ascent through the team's minor league system, but he still could be an option for the rebuilding Pale Hose in a few seasons.
