Miguel Gonzalez News

Miguel Gonzalez Undergoes Shoulder Surgery

Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Miguel Gonzalez (shoulder) had surgery on his shoulder Wednesday and will be out for nine to 12 months. It means Gonzalez is out for the rest of this year and most of next year. Fantasy gamers probably won't notice, though, as Gonzalez was atrocious in his three starts this year (12.41 ERA, 2.43 WHIP, 3.6 K/9). The 34-year-old may be nearing the end of the line.

Miguel Gonzalez Pulled Off Of Rehab Assignment

Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Miguel Gonzalez (shoulder) will be re-evaluated after feeling discomfort in his shoulder. Gonzalez pitched in a rehab game on Sunday, but came out of it not feeling well. Gonzalez will get checked out by doctors and then the team will go from there.

Miguel Gonzalez Will Begin Rehab Assignment On Sunday

Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Miguel Gonzalez (shoulder) will begin his rehab assignment for Triple-A Charlotte on Sunday. Gonzalez has been sidelined since April 24 with right shoulder inflammation. Over 12 1/3 innings, Gonzalez has a 12.41 ERA. He's not much of a fantasy option even when he is healthy.

Miguel Gonzalez Placed On 60-Day DL

Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Miguel Gonzalez (shoulder) was placed on the 60-day disabled list on Thursday, according to the team. Gonzalez has made three starts for the White Sox this season, walking more guys than he's struck out. If you still own him for some strange reason, you should drop him now and forget everything about him. He holds no fantasy value in any league at this point, and his 2018 season might now be in jeopardy with this news.

Miguel Gonzalez Suffers Setback In Rehab

Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Miguel Gonzalez (shoulder) has suffered a setback in his rehab from right rotator cuff inflammation, according to The Athletic's James Fegan. Gonzalez won't do any throwing for the next 10 to 14 days, at which point he will be re-assessed. Fantasy owners should not be clogging up a disabled list spot waiting for Gonzalez to return to the rotation. He has little to offer outside of the occasional streaming start in a good matchup, as evidenced by his 4.88 FIP in 2017.

Miguel Gonzalez Throwing Off Mound Tuesday

Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Miguel Gonzalez (shoulder) was seen throwing off the mound Tuesday. Manager Rick Renteria and pitching coach Don Cooper watched as Gonzalez threw to Avisail Garcia. This is an encouraging sign for Gonzalez's recovery. He has been on the disabled list since April 9 with right rotator cuff inflammation. Gonzalez should slot back into the White Sox rotation when he returns, but do not get your hopes up that he will save your fantasy squad. Gonzalez is simply an innings eater at this point in his career, and the White Sox are one of the worst teams in baseball. For example, it is hard for a starting pitcher to pick up wins when his team has posted a 9-23 record so far this season.

Miguel Gonzalez Not Ready to Return From DL When First Eligible

Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Miguel Gonzalez(shoulder) says he doesn't expect to return from the disabled list when first eligible. Gonzalez is suffering from shoulder inflammation and felt it tense up during his last start. Gonzalez was eligible to return next Tuesday during the White Sox's game against the Cardinals. Gonzalez has been atrocious in 2018, pitching to an 0-3 record and a 12.41 ERA. Missing his start will likely lead to another Chris Volstad or Hector Santiago appearance. However, perhaps the White Sox use this opportunity to see what they have in top prospect Michael Kopech. If there are any rumblings of a potential debut, you'll need to add Kopech immediately.

Miguel Gonzalez Placed On 10-Day Disabled List

Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Miguel Gonzalez (shoulder) has been placed on the 10-day disabled list with right rotator cuff inflammation. Gonzalez has a 12.71 ERA this year and should remain on the waiver wire even when he is activated. Pitcher Chris Beck will replace Gonzalez on the roster for now and can be avoided.

Miguel Gonzalez Struggles Versus Rays Monday

Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Miguel Gonzalez struggled Monday versus the Tampa Bay Rays. Gonzalez went 4 1/3 innings in which he allowed eight hits and four runs. He also allowed two walks and didnt record a strikeout. Gonzalez doesnt hold much value and should be on the waiver wire. Hell look to bounce back against the Twins on Saturday.
