Blue Jays Option Richard Urena To Triple-A Buffalo
The Toronto Blue Jays have optioned infielder Richard Urena to the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons on Friday, making room for Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s long-anticipated promotion. Urena appeared in 11 games for the Blue Jays this season, slashing .313/.333/.406 in 35 at-bats. He will play consistently in Buffalo and is likely to get called up at a later point during the 2019 MLB season.
The Toronto Blue Jays optioned infielder Richard Urena to Triple-A Buffalo on Friday to make room for the arrival of starting pitcher Clay Buchholz on Saturday. The 23-year-old utility infielder had seven hits in 20 at-bats (.350) with just one run scored in his seven games in 2019. He doesn't see enough regular playing time to be much of a consideration in fantasy, but the Blue Jays will likely bring him up again at some point this year when they're in need of more infield depth.
The Toronto Blue Jays have optioned infielder Richard Urena back to Triple-A Buffalo, the team announced on Sunday. Urena has already had two short stints in the Major Leagues this season, and will likely have more before the season is over. Across 19 plate appearances for Toronto, Urena is slashing .278/.278/.444 with one home run, two runs scored, and three RBI. While the numbers arent half bad for a player most people have never heard of, its highly likely there will never be any fantasy relevance here. Outside of what was seemingly a productive aberration in 2015, Urena has never been a prospect that has garnered any sort of legitimate notice. A corresponding move has not been announced yet but we wouldnt expect the big one everyone wants (Im looking at you, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. owners).
