Tyler Ivey Outrighted To Triple-A

Houston Astros right-handed pitcher Tyler Ivey was designated for assignment a few days before the start of the regular season. On Sunday, he cleared waivers and the team outrighted him to Triple-A. The 25-year-old has had a rough go of things since suffering a grade one UCL strain in 2019. He barely pitched in 2021, but did get a chance to make his MLB debut with the Astros. He made one start with the team and allowed four earned runs over 4 2/3 innings.

Tyler Ivey Done For The Year

Houston Astros starting pitcher Tyler Ivey is done for the year. The 25-year-old may be heading for surgery to address Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, which is unfortunate news considering he recently made his MLB debut. Ivey currently owns a 7.71 ERA, with three strikeouts, throughout only one game this season. He isn't worth much from a fantasy standpoint in anything outside of dynasty formats, and he could be looking at an absence that extends well into next season, if not longer

Tyler Ivey Promoted, To Start For Astros Friday

Houston Astros starting pitcher Tyler Ivey is being promoted and will make his major league debut when he starts for the Astros on Friday, according to Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle. The No. 9 prospect in Houston's system according to MLB Pipeline, Ivey has gotten off to a rough start this year with a 7.11 ERA in 6 1/3 innings of work, but throughout his career in the minors he has shown he can be a strikeout machine with a 29.7 percent strikeout rate. He should be in line for a nice matchup against a Texas Rangers team that has the eighth-highest strikeout rate in the majors at 26.2 percent. Ivey could be worth looking at as a streaming option in deeper formats.
