I rarely have to break out the snowflake emoji, but Julius Randle and Tobias Harris were cold last night. However, you’re happy with the results if you started Jimmy Butler or James Harden. This is an excellent example of the ups and downs of this NBA DFS Articles series; some suggested players sometimes hit and sometimes miss. If you’ve been following my picks, you know that what you see is usually what you get with FantasyData NBA Projections.

I’m going to say the good cancels out the bad, and grade this article a B-

Studs DFS Player

Damian Lillard | Portland Trail Blazers

FantasyData Projection: 49 | DraftKings Cost: $11500

Even though Damian Lillard comes in at the price tag of $11500, he is worth adding against the Warriors. So far this year, he is averaging 51.8 fantasy points per contest and should outperform this figure in today’s game. Not only will he be a bigger part of the team’s offense due to Anfernee Simons’ absence, but his taking on a defense ranked 22nd in points allowed per game.

Ja Morant | Memphis Grizzlies

FantasyData Projection: 48 | DraftKings Cost: $10100

Ja Morant has one of the better matchups of the day against a Lakers defensive unit sitting 29th in points allowed. This year, Morant has averaged 52.5 fantasy points per game when taking on opponents in the bottom third of the league in points allowed. In his last game, he played 24 minutes and scored 23 points (38.25 DFS).

Pascal Siakam | Toronto Raptors

FantasyData Projection: 45 | DraftKings Cost: $9700

If you’re looking for an option that will play a significant role in the team’s offense, Pascal Siakam is a healthy option. Compared to today’s other players, he is 16th in usage rate, averaging 46.8 fantasy points per game. Not only does he have an impressive season-long usage rate, but Siakam has also surpassed his average in 3 straight games. Through 52 contests, he has a field goal percentage of 47.9% on an average of 19.0 shot attempts.

Anthony Edwards | Minnesota Timberwolves

FantasyData Projection: 42 | DraftKings Cost: $9600

So far this season, Anthony Edwards is averaging 43.4 fantasy points per game and is one of the more expensive options. However, it is worth targeting him today as he is a sure bet to get his fair share of opportunities. For the season, he has a usage rate of 29.7, which is 9th among today’s options. At $9600.0, it’s worth paying up for Edwards, given the primary role he will be playing.

Value DFS Player

Bobby Portis | Milwaukee Bucks

FantasyData Projection: 30 | DraftKings Cost: $7100

Today’s game will be the second time Bobby Portis has faced off against the Nets. This year he is averaging 31.8 fantasy points and finished with 35.1 in his previous game against Brooklyn. For the season, he is averaging 26.5 minutes per game and has a usage rate of 22.0 which is 43rd among today’s options.

Aaron Gordon | Denver Nuggets

FantasyData Projection: 32 | DraftKings Cost: $7100

Even though the Rockets have been playing a little better on defense of late, they are still ranked just 26th in points allowed per game. So far, Gordon is averaging 31.8 fantasy points per game against defenses in the bottom third of the league in points allowed. In his most recent game, he complied 21.5 fantasy points across 28 minutes vs. the Clippers.

Jerami Grant | Portland Trail Blazers

FantasyData Projection: 33 | DraftKings Cost: $7000

Jerami Grant is coming off a 13-point 5 rebound performance against the Rockets. In the game, he played a total of 32 minutes. Today, he could find himself picking up some extra opportunities at the free-throw line, with the Warriors ranked 29th in free-throws allowed per game. Overall, he is averaging 32.9 fantasy points and has surpassed that 23 times.

Keldon Johnson | San Antonio Spurs

FantasyData Projection: 34 | DraftKings Cost: $6900

When looking at today’s options, Keldon Johnson sits outside some of the top options in terms of salary. However, he has a chance to produce like some of the players priced ahead of him. With Devin Vassell set to miss today’s game, Johnson should get some additional opportunities against Utah. Also, the Jazz are currently just 21st in points allowed per game. Johnson is a good value option with a price tag of $6900.0.
