Brooklyn Nets shooting guard Allen Crabbe returned to action Saturday against the Atlanta Hawks. He continued where he left off with efficient shooting, going four of eight from the field for 12 points with three three-pointers. His three rebounds and two assists were on par with his season averages, but he's a solid streaming option for teams in need of treys. Playing in the up-tempo offense of the Nets, he's averaging 6.2 three-pointers per game. That kind of opportunity is valuable with a sharp shooter like Crabbe.
Brooklyn Nets guard/forward Allen Crabbe (back) will likely return to the lineup against the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday. His sore back has kept him out four games, but it sounds like he's ready to return. Crabbe was averaging 30 minutes a contest in the last seven games before the injury. Crabbe might see some minutes limits on Saturday, but only because he hasn't played since Nov. 24. Caris LeVert should shift into more of a backup point guard role. Isaiah Whitehead might drop out of the rotation entirely, and Joe Harris should see minutes in the 20-25 range.
Allen Crabbe and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson Probable Saturday
Brooklyn Nets guard Allen Crabbe (back) and forward Rondae Hollis-Jefferson (ankle) are both listed as probable for Saturday afternoon's contest against the Atlanta Hawks. Crabbe has missed the team's last three games with a sore back, while Hollis-Jefferson has missed the last two after being forced out of Sunday's win in Memphis with a sprained ankle. Continue monitoring their statuses, as they may be put on a minutes restriction or even come of the bench in their returns.
Allen Crabbe Is In For An Increased Role With Brooklyn Nets
The Brooklyn Nets brought in Allen Crabbe this offseason, hoping to see what he can do in an expanded role. He's shown a little bit of what he can do with increased minutes before; through the month of January Crabbe put up 13.1 points per game, 2.7 rebounds and 1.5 assists. He was able to do that despite playing alongside C.J. McCollum and Damien Lillard. Those two are some of the best scorers in the league, and on the Nets they don't have anyone nearly on that level of play. So it isn't unreasonable to think that Crabbe can put up 15.0 points per game, three rebounds and 2.5 assists on the offensively challenged Brooklyn Nets.
