Power forward Luka Samanic has linked up with Turkish club Fenerbahce, signing a two-year deal. The 24-year-old Croatian heads back to Europe after making 86 NBA appearances across four seasons. He averaged 4.1 points and 2.4 rebounds in 9.4 minutes with the Utah Jazz in 2023-24. Samanic never got his NBA career going despite being dominant in the G League. He will definitely get more playing opportunities with Fenerbahce, which came close to its second EuroLeague title last season.
Luka Samanic Has Very Good All-Around Performance Friday
Utah Jazz power forward Luka Samanic continued his battle for a roster spot with a nice all-around performance against Phoenix Friday in the Summer League. He totaled 22 points with 4-for-8 shooting from deep, gobbled up six rebounds, and registered four assists with one steal and two blocks. The 23-year-old shot 8-for-15 overall from the field. Samanic has performed well in the Summer League, but the Jazz have added plenty of frontcourt quality over the summer and the Croatian forward might be the odd one out when the 2023-24 NBA campaign kicks off.
Utah Jazz forward Luka Samanic (knee) is listed as questionable for Monday's Summer League matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The 23-year-old is dealing with a right knee contusion, so the team will likely wait until closer to tip-off before making a final decision. Samanic looked solid during all three of the Jazz's games during the Salt Lake City Summer League. He averaged 13.3 points 6.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 22.6 minutes during those contests. It's unlikely that he holds consistent fantasy value in the regular season. Although, Samanic might be able to force his way into the rotation if he keeps playing well.
Luka Samanic Performs Well In Loss To Philadelphia
Utah Jazz power forward Luka Samanic led the team with 19 points and came just one rebound short of a double-double in Wednesday's 104-94 Summer League loss to Philadelphia. He also recorded three assists and one steal in 27 minutes, shooting a fantastic 7-for-11 from the field and 3-for-5 from outside. The Croatian forward has an unguaranteed contract for next season and clearly has a lot of motivation to play well in the Summer League. He posted 13 points and six rebounds in 23 minutes during the team's Summer League opener Monday versus OKC. The 23-year-old has so far averaged only 9.9 minutes per game in his first three NBA seasons, scoring 4.8 points and notching 2.5 rebounds.
