TJ Leaf Records Career-High 28 Points On Wednesday
Indiana Pacers forward TJ Leaf got some extra run with many of the Pacers starters getting the night off, and he made the most of his minutes as he poured in a career-high 28 points in the one-point win over the Hawks. Leaf connected on 12 of 19 shooting and added 10 rebounds while adding two assists with two steals and two blocks for one of the best lines of the night. He was definitely one of the better value plays on Wednesday, and onlookers need to take note that once the regulars return to the lineup, Leaf will go back to a minimal bench role.

Leaf saw a jump in playing time with Domantas Sabonis sidelined, which could mean the second-year product that has averaged just 8.9 minutes per game this season could be in line for more run again Saturday versus Orlando. Leaf finished 7-for-12 from the field Thursday, attempting the second-most shots of any Pacer who saw action. At his bare-minimum DFS price, hes one of the best punt play options on the board Saturday.

His season barely got started before he rolled his ankle just one minutes into the regular season. When healthy, he is not projected to see very much run, but he is a younger player worth keeping an eye on. For now, consider him day to day.

Leaf scored 13 points on 6-for-9 shooting from the floor and 1-for-3 shooting from the three as he also managed to grab six rebounds in a team-high 34 minutes. Leaf again got the start with Thaddeus Young (foot) on the shelf and has put together a great preseason as he has averaged 11.7 points and 7.7 rebounds. Young will be returning soon and this only adds more complications to the Pacers overstocked frontcourt.

The Pacers sat out forward Thaddeus Young (knee) allowing Leaf to play 33 minutes and post a double-double of 13 points and 12 rebounds. Leaf rounded out a solid stat line by contributing four assists, two steals and a block. As long as Young remains sidelined, Leaf would receive a boost in fantasy value, but there are no reports the injury is too serious. Come regular season, Leaf should return to his limited role off the bench.
