Houston Rockets forward Thabo Sefolosha has decided to opt out of the upcoming restart in Orlando, Florida. It's unclear why he is deciding to sit out, but he was barely part of the rotation anyway. At times, Sefolosha would see around 10 minutes, but his absence should not make a huge impact. P.J. Tucker, Danuel House and Robert Covington will be asked to play a few extra minutes with Sefolosha unavailable. Covington's defensive ability gives him the highest upside for DFS contests.
Thabo Sefolosha Upgraded To Questionable For Monday
Utah Jazz shooting guard/small forward Thabo Sefolosha had previously been ruled out for Mondays contest against the Washington Wizards due to left hamstring tightness, but the club has officially tagged him as questionable. The veteran wing has missed each of the past two games, having missed a month of the season earlier in the year due to injury. He remains on the low end of the minutes spectrum for Utah, but he has knocked down at least one three in each of his last seven games.
Thabo Sefolosha Tagged As Questionable For Saturday
Utah Jazz shooting guard/small forward Thabo Sefolosha could potentially make his return to action Saturday versus the San Antonio Spurs, having been out since Jan. 5 due to a hamstring injury. Sefolosha was able to practice Friday, which can only be a good sign as it pertains to his potential status. He has seen his minutes plummet in his second season with Utah, averaging just 11.1 minutes per game, which has him on pace for a career low. The Jazzs depth doesnt leave for many opportunities for extended minutes for Sefolosha, although he may cut into time previously reserved for the likes of Kyle Korver or Royce ONeale upon his return.
Dante Exum, Thabo Sefolosha To Miss Monday’s Contest
The Utah Jazz will be without point guard Dante Exum and shooting guard/small forward Thabo Sefolosha during Mondays contest versus the Milwaukee Bucks. Exum is out with a left ankle sprain and Sefolosha will be sidelined due to a right hamstring injury. Without his primary backup, Ricky Rubio could see slightly more minutes, while Donovan Mitchell could also be asked to take on a bigger offensive role. The next chance Exum and Sefolosha will have to return to action comes Wednesday against the Orlando Magic.
Thabo Sefolosha Collects First Double-Double Of Year
Utah Jazz shooting guard/small forward Thabo Sefolosha made the most of his season-high 20 minutes Saturday versus the New York Knicks and recorded his first double-double of the 2018-19 campaign with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Sefolosha logged all that court time due to the nature of Utahs win, so this likely isnt a repeatable performance, but its worth keeping in mind should any Jazz wings miss time as Sefolosha could present himself as a high-upside DFS play.
Utah Jazz guard/forward Thabo Sefolosha (knee) said he's done some jogging and shooting, but is likely a month away from returning to normal basketball activities. He had knee surgery and is expected to spend most of his time in Switzerland. Sefolosha should be ready to play by the start of next season. However, he will be suspended the first five games of the season due to violating the NBA's Anti-Drug Program. He won't be an asset in most leagues anyway. Deeper leagues are the only place that Sefolosha should be owned at this point in his career.
Thabo Sefolosha Will Undergo Season-Ending Surgery
Utah Jazz small forwardThabo Sefolosha (knee) has decided to undergo season-ending knee surgery to repair his MCL. Sefolosha injured his knee Friday against the Charlotte Hornets and was leaning towards the surgery, but Utah has officially announced he will undergo the procedure. In Sefolosha's absence Monday night, the Jazz used a committee at the power forward spot. Jonas Jerebko (eight points in 22 minutes) started at the four, while Joe Johnson (five points in 26 minutes) and Royce O'Neale (sevent points in 21 minutes) both saw extended run off the bench. These three players are limited to deep league consideration until a consistent option emerges.
Utah Jazz guard/forward Thabo Sefolosha (knee) is probable to play against the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday. The good news is that Sefolosha looked fine in his return from his one-game absence on Saturday. He scored eight points with four rebounds, one assist, two steals in 18 minutes. He should be fine to play against Philly on Monday. Sefolosha will see more minutes with Rudy Gobert (knee) inactive right now. Sadly, Sefolosha doesn't offer much besides a defensive specialist in deeper leagues.
Utah Jazz guard/forward Thabo Sefolosha (knee) is questionable to play against the Orlando Magic on Saturday. Sefolosha was unable to start on Friday against Brooklyn, and Jonas Jerebko started and played 17 minutes. Royce O'Neale logged in a career-high 21 minutes off the bench. Ekpe Udoh saw 15 minutes of playing time as well on Friday. If Sefolosha is unable to play then it'll be difficult to decided who to use for fantasy purposes. Best to just avoid the situation altogether until the minutes gets figured out.
Utah Jazz guard/forward Thabo Sefolosha (knee) is questionable to play against the Brooklyn Nets on Friday. Since Rudy Gobert (knee) went down, Sefolosha has been averaging 23.4 minutes per game in the last three contests. If Sefolosha is unable to suit up on Friday then Jonas Jerebko will likely remain in the starting lineup and would be looking at additional minutes. Ekpe Udoh would also see an increase in minutes with Sefolosha sidelined.
