NFL Prop Bets: Week 12

After a fairly underwhelming couple of Thanksgiving day games, the Sunday slate for Week 12 brings us what should be some much more exciting matchups. The Steelers and Ravens game now has been moved to Tuesday, which might be the best matchup of the week. We also get to see the Bills take on the Chargers and the Chiefs at the Buccaneers. With several fun matchups coming up this week, here are some prop bets that I’m looking at for this week. Plenty of action is taking place this Sunday and as the playoff picture is starting to take shape, just about everyone needs to get a win this week, unless of course, you’re the Jets. Here are some of my favorite prop bets for Week 12.

Derek Carr Over 1.5 Passing Touchdowns

Prop Bet offered at: DraftKings and PointsBet

The first prop bet that I’m looking at is for Derek Carr to throw for two or more touchdowns this week against the Falcons. As Sunday gets closer, this prop bet should be pretty standard across all platforms. The Raiders go on the road to play the Falcons who are giving up the second-most passing yards per game in the NFL to opposing quarterbacks at 300.3, which is behind only the Seahawks. Carr has thrown for two or more touchdowns in seven out of ten games this year and is averaging 31.4 pass attempts per game. This matchup has the second-highest point total on the Sunday slate at 54 total points, which is behind just the Chiefs and Buccaneers matchup. I like Carr to throw for at least two touchdowns inside the dome at Atlanta this week in what should be a high-scoring matchup. For what it’s worth, the odds started off much better, but I’d still definitely put money on the over. This prop bet is currently at -239 on PointsBet.

Wayne Gallman To Score

Prop Bet offered at: DraftKings

One of the least exciting matchups of this Sunday slate is the Bengals taking on the Giants. After losing Joe Burrow for the year and Joe Mixon on injured reserve, this Bengals team doesn’t really have anything to play for at this point. The Giants, on the other hand, are lucky enough to play in the NFC East and still have a chance to try and get a playoff spot. Wayne Gallman has scored in four straight games including twice last week against the Eagles. The Bengals have been fairly tough against opposing running backs this year, but the way the Giants have been leaning on Gallman, I expect he’ll get at least a few chances in the red zone this week to find the end zone. Currently at +105 odds right now, this is one prop bet that could be a nice value this week.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire Over 39.5 Rushing Yards

Prop Bet offered at: Fanduel

It’s no secret that the Buccaneers rushing defense has been one of the best in the NFL this year, but this prop bet is just a bit too low to pass up. Clyde Edwards-Helaire has over 40 rushing yards in 7 of 10 games this year and is averaging 14 carries per game. The Buccaneers defense has been great against the run, but they have given up 40 or more rushing yards to opposing running backs in 8 of 11 games this year. While I don’t expect Edwards-Helaire to put up a ton of yards this week, I’ll take the over on this one in what should be a high-scoring matchup. This prop bet is currently at -110 on FanDuel.

Taysom Hill Under 10.5 Rushing Attempts

Prop Bet offered at: DraftKings

With Drew Brees on the sideline, we saw Taysom Hill step up last week and lead this offense. We all know that Hill is a versatile weapon that is used in all sorts of ways for the Saints, throwing the ball, rushing, and catching passes at times. Hill ran the ball 10 times last week for 49 yards and two rushing touchdowns, and those 10 attempts are the most he’s had all year. The Broncos are seeing an average of 4.3 rush attempts per game from opposing quarterbacks, and the only one that has 10 attempts was Cam Newton in Week 6 where he ran for 76 yards and a rushing touchdown. Hill is definitely going to be running the ball this week, but 11 attempts is a bit too high for my liking. This prop bet is currently -118 on DraftKings.

Michael Thomas Over 5.5 Receptions

Prop Bet offered at: DraftKings

After missing the majority of the season, Michael Thomas is back and is finally starting to get involved as we’ve seen in the past. Last week with Taysom Hill at quarterback against the Falcons, he saw 12 targets and caught nine of them for 104 yards. The Broncos are giving up an average of 154.6 receiving yards per game to opposing wide receivers and are averaging 1.2 touchdowns per game to opposing wide receivers. Last week, we saw DeVante Parker six of nine targets for 61 yards and a touchdown against the Broncos. This game has a point total at 43 points right now, but I expect the over in this one. Hill is more than likely going to lean on Thomas and I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he sees double-digit targets again this week. This prop bet is currently at -106 on DraftKings.

James White Over 9.5 Rushing Yards

Prop Bet offered at: Fanduel

This last prop bet might be the closest to a lock this Sunday out of all of these. James White hasn’t been involved much this year, but he saw five carries last week and caught six of nine targets thrown his way. Sony Michel is expected to be back in action and Damien Harris has split the majority of the work lately with Rex Burkhead being mixed in. Burkhead is done for the season with what is expected to be a torn ACL. While this backfield is still looking like it’ll be a committee, White is going to inevitably be more involved with Burkhead on the sideline. He saw five carries last week and totaled 19 rushing yards. He’s only in one other game this year, Week 1 against Miami where he totaled 22 yards. These numbers are hardly even fantasy-worthy, but from a prop bet perspective, this should easily hit. The Cardinals are giving up an average of 95.3 rushing yards on 21.7 rush attempts, and White should be able to get 10 rushing yards pretty easily. This prop bet is currently at -110 on FanDuel.
