Bills Release Robert Foster, Andre Roberts, Duke Williams

The Buffalo Bills released veteran wide receivers Robert Foster, Andre Roberts and Duke Williams on Saturday. None of the trio figured to see much playing time in 2020 behind starters Stefon Diggs, John Brown and Cole Beasley, but it's good news for Isaiah McKenzie and rookies Gabriel Davis and Isaiah Hodgins. Foster had 27 receptions for 541 yards and three touchdowns in 2018, but he managed just three catches for 64 yards in 13 games (two starts) last year. Roberts, who was drafted in the third round by Arizona in 2010, was more of an offensive weapon earlier in his career with the Cardinals, but he's become a Pro Bowl kick returner each of the last two years with the Jets and Bills.

Duke Williams, Robert Foster Won't Be Locks To Make Team

Buffalo Bills wide receivers Duke Williams and Robert Foster could be facing an uphill battle to make the team out of training camp, in the opinion of The Athletic's Joe Buscaglia. Williams, 27, saw more opportunities late last season, but he played in just four regular season games and had 12 receptions for 166 yards and a score. Foster, 26, had only three receptions for 64 yards in 13 games (two starts). The Bills traded for Stefon Diggs in the offseason and also drafted wideouts Gabriel Davis and Isaiah Hodgins, so Williams and Foster have been pushed further down the depth chart. Williams might have a leg up on Foster because of his physical presence at the position, but neither will be fantasy options leading up to the season.

Duke Williams Leads Bills In Receiving

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Duke Williams led the team in receiving, catching six passes for 108 yards. The former CFL standout and fan favorite dropped a few passes, but he showed his typical strength and physicality after the catch and helped the Bills move the chains on a few drives. Hes still too inconsistent to be much of a factor in the playoffs, but he does possess unique traits to suggest that there could be some value in the future if he continues to get better.

Duke Williams Not Roster-Worthy For Week 11

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Duke Williams was a surprise inactive for Week 10 against the Browns. Even if he suits up for Week 11 against the Dolphins, he likely won't be heavily utilized in the game. Williams has just six catches on seven targets over the season. Robert Foster filled in for Williams as the team's de facto WR3 in Week 10, but he managed only one catch for 20 yards in the game. Williams should be left on waivers in all leagues.

Duke Williams Shouldn't Be On Fantasy Radars For Week 10

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Duke Williams went without a target in Week 9 after seeing just three total targets in Weeks 7 and 8 combined. Williams made a splash in his Bills debut in Week 6, catching all four of his targets for 29 yards and a touchdown, but he hasn't been involved in the offense since then. At this point, he would likely need an injury to either John Brown or Cole Beasley to warrant a spot on fantasy radars. He can be left on waivers in all formats.

Duke Williams A Healthy Scratch For Bills

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Duke Williams is a healthy inactive for Week 9 against the Redskins. Running back T.J. Yeldon also remains a healthy scratch with rookie Devin Singletary backing up Frank Gore in the backfield. Williams caught a touchdown on Oct. 6 in the win over the Titans, but he has just six catches (seven targets) for 58 yards in his three games for Buffalo this year. Both John Brown and Cole Beasley are in play for fantasy owners on Sunday in a very appealing matchup with the one-win Redskins. You can't trust Robert Foster or Andre Roberts behind them in the passing game.

Duke Williams Is Not A Viable Starting Option In Week 9

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Duke Williams has just three targets over the past two games. He appears to be the team's No. 2 receiver on paper, but slot receiver Cole Beasley is the second receiver quarterback Josh Allen is looking to after John Brown, making Williams the de facto No. 3. The Bills have a very favorable matchup in Week 9, at home against the Redskins. It's likely that there will be another Bills pass-catcher apart from Brown or Beasley who will put up decent fantasy numbers, but it's just as likely to be a tight end, Tyler Kroft or Dawson Knox, as it is to be Williams. Running back Devin Singletary will also likely be heavily involved in the passing game. Williams can remain on waivers in all leagues at this point.

Duke Williams Has Just One Catch In Week 8

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Duke Williams struggled in Week 8 against the Eagles, catching just one pass on two targets for six yards. The Bills as a whole struggled to move the ball through the air in the game, with quarterback Josh Allen throwing for only 169 yards on the day. While Williams is technically the team's No. 2 receiver for now, slot receiver Cole Beasley is well ahead of him in the pecking order. Williams isn't worth rostering unless Beasley or John Brown suffer injuries or we see the team start to feature him more.

Duke Williams Active For Week 8

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Duke Williams (shoulder) is active for Week 8 against the Eagles. Williams has an excellent matchup against a porous Eagles secondary this weekend. The first-year professional has caught all five of his targets in his two games played for Buffalo this year, going for 52 yards and one touchdown. However, quarterback Josh Allen probably won't be able to sustain fantasy production consistently beyond John Brown and Cole Beasley, making Williams strictly a lottery ticket in DFS and deeper leagues in hopes that he scores a long touchdown.

Duke Williams Questionable For Week 8

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Duke Williams (shoulder) was limited in practice all week and is questionable for Week 8 against the Eagles. As the team's No. 3 wideout, Williams has just five catches for 52 yards and a touchdown in two games this year. He can't be trusted in fantasy starting lineups just yet, even if he's active. Andre Roberts and Isaiah McKenzie should rotate snaps behind John Brown and Cole Beasley if Williams isn't able to play this weekend.
