Jared McCann Scores Game-Winner On Friday

Seattle Kraken left wing Jared McCann scored the game-winning goal in overtime to power the Kraken over the Vegas Golden Knights on Friday evening. The 28-year-old scored on a breakaway and beat Adin Hill on his backhand. McCann has now scored in each of his past two games and sits with season total of seven goals through 15 games. He also sits with 10 assists and 33 shots on goal. Over his past three seasons in Seattle, McCann has scored at least 25+ goals in each of them with a career-high of 40 in the 2022 campaign. Fantasy managers should continue to rely on McCann from a scoring perspective and is worth a look in favorable matchups in DFS.

Kirill Kaprizov Scores Twice, Tallies Assist On Friday

Minnesota Wild left wing Kirill Kaprizov scored twice and tallied an assist in their victory over the Anaheim Ducks on Friday evening. Kaprizov scored his first goal of the evening in the opening frame off a wrist shot which extended the Minnesota lead to three goals. Then, in the final frame, the 27-year-old would tack on the primary assist on Marco Rossi's goal and then tally his second goal of the evening, this time on the power-play. Kaprizov has now scored at least three points in each of his past two games Through 14 games this campaign, the winger has tallied an impressive 27 points with nine goals and 18 assists. Kaprizov remains a high-end winger and should be locked into all lineups given his elite scoring production.

Joel Blomqvist  • G  •  Penguins

Joel Blomqvist Sharp On Friday, Earns Third Victory

Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Joel Blomqvist stopped 32 of the 34 shots he faced en route to defeating the Washington Capitals. After the Penguins gave the netminder a two goal lead, the Capitals would go one to score two straight courtesy of Rasmus Sandin and Andrew Mangiapane. However, Blomqvist was able to keep Washington off the scoresheet in the final frame which set up Evgeni Malkin to score the game-winner. The 22-year-old has begun to operate as the clear No.2 option as Alex Nedeljkovic has started each of the past four games prior to Friday. However, during this stretch, Nedeljkovic held a 2.43 GAA and a .892 SV% which could open the door for Blomqvist to see more starts while Tristan Jarry remains in the AHL on a conditioning stint.

Evgeni Malkin  • C  •  Penguins

Evgeni Malkin Tallies Two Points On Friday

Pittsburgh Penguins left wing/center Evgeni Malkin tallied a goal and an assist in their victory over the Washington Capitals on Friday evening. Malkin tallied the primary assist on the opening goal of the game scored by defenseman Erik Karlsson. Later in the third, Malkin would score his fifth goal of the season, which eventually served as the game-winner. Since scoring 11 points through the first five games of the season, the 38-year-old has struggled to find consistency. This was his only his third game in his past 11 where he got on the scoresheet. Nonetheless, Malkin remains a solid option for scoring given his role on the top line and top power-play unit in the Steel City.

John Tavares  • C  •  Maple Leafs

John Tavares Nets Two Goals In Friday's Victory

Toronto Maple Leafs center John Tavares scored twice to lead Toronto to a victory on Friday evening over the Detroit Red Wings. Tavares scored the eventual game-winner in the second period on the man-advantage on a wrist shot. Mitch Marner and Morgan Rielly tallied the assists. Then, the 34-year-old would go on to score the empty-netter in the final minutes. This game snapped a three-game pointless streak where he held a poor -3 rating. However, prior to that cold stretch, Tavares held a six-game point streak. Fantasy managers should continue to rely on Tavares to provide solid scoring production playing in the Toronto top 6 and top power-play unit.

Anthony Stolarz  • G  •  Maple Leafs

Anthony Stolarz Set To Face Red Wings Friday

Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Anthony Stolarz is expected to make his 10th start of the campaign in Friday's Original Six matchup against the Detroit Red Wings. He has just collected his first shutout of the season by defeating Boston 4-0 in another Original Six matchup on Tuesday. Stolarz hasn't suffered a regulation defeat in five straight starts, posting a 5-2-2 record for the season. Only two teams have gotten more than two pucks past Stolarz, who's sporting a very good 2.12 goals-against average. The Maple Leafs won't have Auston Matthews (upper body) in the lineup, but they are still -122 favorites on Friday, meaning Stolarz has a strong chance to secure another victory.

Lukas Dostal  • G  •  Ducks

Lukas Dostal Looks To End Losing Streak On Friday

Anaheim Ducks goaltender Lukas Dostal has been confirmed as the starter for Friday's clash against Minnesota. The 24-year-old has been one of the most impressive netminders in the league at the beginning of the campaign, but Dostal heads into Friday's matchup sitting on a three-game losing run. He has given up nine goals in his past two appearances. However, Dostal still owns an impressive .930 save percentage and has allowed 2.50 goals for the year while logging a 4-4-2 record. He's in a tough spot to improve his numbers on Friday, as the Wild have won nine of their 13 games so far, averaging the eighth-most goals in the league (3.62).

Mason Marchment  • LW  •  Stars

Mason Marchment A Game-Time Decision Saturday

Dallas Stars left wing Mason Marchment (undisclosed) could be back in action against Winnipeg on Saturday. An undisclosed injury kept Marchment out from Thursday's battle with Chicago, but he was on the ice for practice on Friday. The 29-year-old power forward has not disappointed fantasy managers in 2024-25, recording eight points (two goals, six assists) and 25 hits in 11 appearances. Marchment's return would push Oskar Back out of the lineup, while Sam Steel will have to settle for a fourth-line role.

Sonny Milano  • LW  •  Capitals

Sonny Milano Unavailable Friday

Washington Capitals left wing Sonny Milano (upper body) will not play against Pittsburgh on Friday. After being a healthy scratch for an extended period, Milano has played in back-to-back games. However, he will now be sidelined due to an upper-body injury. Milano was a replacement for Jakub Vrana in the lineup, and the Czech winger will rejoin the action versus the Penguins. Vrana has been fairly productive in a limited role, producing four points (two goals, two assists) in nine games despite averaging barely over 10 minutes of ice time. He will roll with the third line on Friday.

Jeff Petry  • D  •  Red Wings

Jeff Petry Sits Out Friday's Contest

Detroit Red Wings defenseman Jeff Petry will be a healthy scratch for Friday's matchup against Toronto. He comes out of the lineup after amassing a minus-three rating across the past three games. The entire campaign has been a struggle for Petry, who's produced only one assist in nine games. The Red Wings will insert Justin Holl back into the lineup. Holl has recorded one assist in seven outings this season. He has failed to hit the 14-minute mark in three consecutive appearances but should play a bigger role on Friday as Ben Chiarot's partner on the second defensive pairing. With that said, Holl has zero fantasy value, and managers should look elsewhere for reinforcements at the back.

Cam Fowler  • D  •  Ducks

Cam Fowler A Game-Time Call Friday

Anaheim Ducks defenseman Cam Fowler (upper body) has been labeled as a game-time decision for Friday's game against Minnesota. The veteran is dealing with an upper-body injury and missed the morning skate. Fowler gets heavy usage on the Ducks blue line but hasn't provided much on the offensive end, tallying two assists in 12 games. He's been more effective in the defensive zone, sitting third on the team with 20 blocks. If Fowler is out on Friday, Urho Vaakanainen is expected to skate among the top-four group at the back.

Philipp Grubauer  • G  •  Kraken

Philipp Grubauer Day-To-Day, Ales Stezka Called Up

Seattle Kraken goaltender Philipp Grubauer (undisclosed) will miss Friday's game against the Vegas Golden Knights as he deals with an injury suffered at home. The injury doesn't appear to be serious, as he was on the ice Friday morning, but it is enough to keep him out for at least one game. Ales Stezka was called up from the AHL and will back up Joey Daccord in Friday's game. If Grubauer's injury does end up being serious, Daccord would see a heavy workload.

Shane Pinto  • C  •  Senators

Shane Pinto Could Return Saturday

Ottawa Senators center Shane Pinto (undisclosed) has been skating with the team and has a good chance to return on Saturday against the Boston Bruins. Pinto has missed seven games after suffering an injury on October 22. The 23-year-old has three points in six games so far this season and will likely return to his role as third-line center. Unfortunately, it's not a great situation for fantasy purposes, but if one of Tim Stutzle or Josh Norris, who have historically struggled to stay healthy, go down to injury, Pinto would see his stock skyrocket as he would join the top-six and first powerplay unit.

Jakob Chychrun  • D  •  Capitals

Jakob Chychrun Skating, Unlikely To Play Friday

Washington Capitals defenseman Jakob Chychrun (upper body) was at team practice in a regular jersey, but doesn't seem to be ready to go for Friday's contest against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Chychrun has missed the last four games due to an upper-body injury suffered on October 29, but he is progressing and should return soon. The Caps play the St. Louis Blues on Saturday, and there is a chance Chychrun returns for that game. When he returns, expect him to play top-four minutes with some time on both the powerplay and penalty kill. He should provide some scoring and decent peripherals for fantasy, making him a solid lower-end defenseman in standard leagues.

Alex Lyon  • G  •  Red Wings

Alex Lyon Dealing With Lower-Body Injury, Ville Husso Called Up

Detroit Red Wings goalie Alex Lyon (lower body) tweaked an injury in practice on Thursday and won't play in either of the team's back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday. Cam Talbot will get Friday's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, while Ville Husso was called up from the AHL and will start Saturday against the New York Rangers. Neither make for a great stream, as both the Rangers and Leafs have offensive firepower. As for Lyon, head coach Derek Lalonde said he wasn't overly concerned about the chance of a long-term absence, so the goalie should be back soon.

Thatcher Demko  • G  •  Canucks

Thatcher Demko Progressing In Recovery From Knee Issue

Vancouver Canucks goaltender Thatcher Demko (knee) could return before the end of November. Demko has been dealing with an uncommon knee injury that dates back to the 2024 playoffs and hasn't played in any games yet this season. He has been skating at optional skates and individually before team practices as he gets himself ready to return. He will likely need a bit of a ramp up period once he returns to practice in full, but the 28-year-old's return appears to be on the horizon. Kevin Lankinen has filled in admirably for Demko, but Canucks will surely be happy to have their star goalie back. Demko should be rostered and stashed in all fantasy formats.

Auston Matthews  • C  •  Maple Leafs

Auston Matthews Placed On Injured Reserve

Toronto Maple Leafs center Auston Matthews (upper body) has been placed on Injured Reserve, retroactive to Nov. 3. Matthews will be out for at least this weekend's games due to an upper-body injury but could return next week if things go well for him. He has not skated since Sunday, so it is unsurprising that he won't play this weekend. The Leafs will likely use an abundance of caution with their superstar, so he likely won't play until he is at 100%. Max Domi should take Matthews' place on the first line for as long as he remains out.

Connor Hellebuyck  • G  •  Jets

Connor Hellebuyck Posts 40th Career Shutout

Winnipeg Jets goaltender Connor Hellebuyck recorded his 40th career shutout as the team beat Colorado 1-0 on Thursday. Hellebuyck became the sixth American goalie with at least 40 shutouts in league history with a 35-save effort. The Avalanche entered the contest having scored multiple goals in each of their 13 games so far this season. Hellebuyck has looked almost superhuman at times in 2024-25, logging a 10-1-0 record with a league-high three shutouts. He has allowed 1.91 goals while registering a .932 save percentage. Another tough divisional rival awaits Hellebuyck next as the Jets host Dallas on Saturday. Hellebuyck lost all three starts in the matchup last season, allowing eight goals.

Jack Roslovic  • C  •  Hurricanes

Jack Roslovic Keeps Hot Spell Going Against Penguins

Carolina Hurricanes forward Jack Roslovic scored two goals and tallied an assist in Thursday's 5-1 victory over Pittsburgh. He scored back-to-back goals after Jordan Martinook had opened the scoring and helped set up Jaccob Slavin's first goal of the campaign in the second period. Roslovic has quietly been one of the hottest forwards around lately. He's on a run of six goals and seven points over a five-game span. The 27-year-old gets very little power-play time, which makes his scoring form even more impressive. For the season overall, Roslovic has bagged a team-high nine goals and sits on 10 points with 12 games played.

Jack Hughes  • C  •  Devils

Jack Hughes Amasses Three Points In Thursday's Win

New Jersey Devils forward Jack Hughes showed off some of his best form in Thursday's matchup against Montreal, scoring a goal and handing out two assists in a 5-3 win. His fifth marker of the year ended up as the game-winning goal. He's added 10 assists to his goals in 16 games. Hughes' productivity hasn't been the same as in previous years, but he has notched 10 points (four goals, six assists) across his past eight appearances, which is a significant improvement from the scoring rate he had at the start of the campaign. Hughes finishes this week with a juicy matchup against the leaky Sharks but also faces the Islanders over the weekend. He went scoreless in the first head-to-head clash with the Islanders this season, despite logging nearly 24 minutes of ice time in a 4-3 overtime loss.
