Stuart Skinner Faces Devils Thursday

Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Stuart Skinner (eye) will return to the crease on Thursday against the New Jersey Devils. Last weekend, Skinner was struck near his left eye by a puck when he was serving as a backup goalie in a game. Luckily for Pittsburgh, the incident didn't result in a serious injury for Skinner, and he is ready to help the team on Thursday. Skinner has posted an 11-8-5 record since joining the Penguins in December, allowing 2.99 goals with a .886 save percentage. This isn't a great matchup for Skinner, as the Devils' offense has significantly improved late in the season, averaging 3.72 goals per game since March.

Nazem Kadri to "Miss Some Games" With Finger Injury

Colorado Avalanche forward Nazem Kadri (finger) could be done for the rest of the regular season. He injured a finger in Tuesday's win over St. Louis, and Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar said Kadri "will miss some games." Since rejoining Colorado from Calgary, Kadri has made 16 appearances for the Avalanche, recording nine points (four goals, five assists). Joel Kiviranta is expected to replace Kadri on the third line against Calgary on Thursday night. Zakhar Bardakov could also see some action while Kadri is on the mend.

Seth Jones  • D  •  Panthers

Seth Jones to Miss Rest of Season Due to Broken Foot

Florida Panthers defenseman Seth Jones (foot) will be unavailable for the final few games of the regular season, Jameson Olive of the Panthers' official site reports. He suffered a broken bone in his foot during Tuesday's loss to Montreal. Earlier in the season, Jones missed time due to an upper-body injury and will finish the campaign with only 52 appearances. He posted 32 points (seven goals, 25 assists), 88 SOG, 61 blocks, and 47 hits. The Panthers' blue line has already been without Dmitry Kulikov (finger), Aaron Ekblad (finger), Uvis Balinskis (foot), and Niko Mikkola (lower body) to end the year. Mike Benning is a major beneficiary of the injury crisis and will join the first power-play unit on Thursday against Ottawa.

Zach Benson  • LW  •  Sabres

Zach Benson Scores Twice in Comeback Victory

Buffalo Sabres left winger Zach Benson had two goals as the Sabres defeated the New York Rangers by a score of 5-3 on Wednesday. It was the first multi-goal game of the season for Benson, and it broke a six-game goalless drought for the young forward. Benson now has 12 goals, 39 points, and a plus-21 rating this year in his third NHL season.

Logan Thompson Shuts Out the Leafs

Washington Capitals goaltender Logan Thompson was perfect in Wednesday night's 4-0 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs. He stopped all 21 shots he faced and has now won five of his last six starts. Thompson has been one of the best goalies in the NHL this year with a 2.47 goals against average, .912 save percentage, and a 28-21-6 record.

Andrei Kuzmenko  • LW  •  Kings

Andrei Kuzmenko to Be Re-Evaluated in 7-8 Days

Los Angeles Kings winger Andrei Kuzmenko (knee) will be re-evaluated in 7-8 days, Alexander Legget of Mayors Manor reports. The Russian forward is recovering from meniscus surgery and was ruled out for the rest of the regular season in early March. However, it looks like he could have a chance to play in next week's regular-season finale against Calgary. The team could really use his help, having struggled to secure a playoff spot. Kuzmenko has produced 25 points (12 goals, 13 assists) across 52 games this term.

Mason Appleton  • C  •  Red Wings

Mason Appleton Won't Play Thursday

Detroit Red Wings forward Mason Appleton (upper body) won't play on Thursday against the Philadelphia Flyers, Ted Kuflan of the Detroit News reports. He will miss a fourth consecutive game with an upper-body injury and might be unavailable for the rest of the regular-season slate. Appleton has recorded 14 points (six goals, eight assists) in 65 games with 63 SOG and 89 hits. Detroit has also just lost Michael Rasmussen (lower body), so Carter Mazur and Dominik Shine could see regular action until the end of the regular season.

Tony DeAngelo  • D  •  Islanders

Tony DeAngelo Expected to Return Thursday

New York Islanders defenseman Tony DeAngelo (lower body) is expected to be available on Thursday against the Toronto Maple Leafs, Rachel Luscher of the Islanders' official site reports. He has missed six games due to a lower-body injury but returned to practice on Wednesday, skating with Adam Pelech. The Islanders' playoff hopes are hanging by a thread, and DeAngelo's creative spark could help the team end a four-game skid. He is third on the team with 28 assists and has collected 33 points in 72 appearances. DeAngelo has recorded an assist in both of his encounters with the Maple Leafs this season.

John Klingberg  • D  •  Sharks

John Klingberg Rejoins Sharks Lineup Wednesday

San Jose Sharks defenseman John Klingberg will rejoin the lineup on Wednesday against the Edmonton Oilers, Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News reports. After missing time due to an upper-body injury, Klingberg has been a healthy scratch for a couple of games. He last played on March 24. The 33-year-old has appeared in 54 contests this season, recording 24 points (10 goals, 14 assists), 79 SOG, 61 blocks, and 46 hits. Early in the campaign, Klingberg was an effective player for the Sharks, but he's been struggling since the turn of the year. Across his last 11 appearances, Klingberg has made it on the score sheet just two times. Shakir Mukhamadullin will make way for Klingberg in the lineup.

Alex Lyon  • G  •  Sabres

Alex Lyon Dealing With Lower-Body Injury

Buffalo Sabres goaltender Alex Lyon (lower body) won't dress for Wednesday's matchup with the New York Rangers, Matthew Fairburn of The Athletic reports. He left the morning skate early due to a lower-body injury. Since Buffalo carries three goaltenders, Lyon wasn't expected to dress anyway on Wednesday. But his injury could force Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff to rethink his plans for the final few regular-season games. Lyon has been impressive in 2025-26, posting a 20-10-4 record, a 2.77 goals-against average, a .907 save percentage, and three shutouts. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen is scheduled to start on Wednesday, with Colten Ellis serving as his backup.

Oliver Ekman-Larsson Back in Action Wednesday

Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson (middle body) will return from a one-game absence on Wednesday against the Washington Capitals. The Swedish veteran wasn't available for Saturday's contest against L.A. due to a minor middle-body injury. He is expected to take Troy Stecher's spot on the blue line for Wednesday's game. Ekman-Larsson has been one of Toronto's better players during a disappointing season, totaling 38 points (eight goals, 30 assists) in 73 outings. However, he has gone cold offensively late in the season, finishing scoreless in 12 of his last 14 appearances.

Alex Ovechkin  • LW  •  Capitals

Alex Ovechkin Won't Decide Future Until Offseason

Washington Capitals winger Alex Ovechkin hasn't yet decided whether the 2025-26 campaign will be his final NHL season. "We're going to make a decision in the summer," Ovechkin said in an interview posted by the team on social media. The Capitals captain is finishing up a five-year, $47.5 million contract. Despite turning 40 in September, Ovechkin has continued to produce for fantasy managers, scoring 31 goals and 61 points in 78 games. He is only the fourth player in NHL history to score 30-plus goals in a season at age 40 or older.

Justus Annunen  • G  •  Predators

Justus Annunen Ends Predators' 120-Game Streak Without a Shutout

Nashville Predators goaltender Justus Annunen stood on his head on Tuesday night against the Anaheim Ducks, recording his third career shutout with 43 saves in a 5-0 road win. Incredibly, the Predators hadn't kept the opposition from scoring since January 2025, a streak of 120 regular-season games. Annunen's last shutout was over two years ago, in March 2024. Nashville's No. 2 has come up big for the team recently, winning three of his last five starts. Overall, Annunen has a 9-11-2 record this season. He has often ended up in the losing column, despite holding a 2.78 goals-against average and a .906 save percentage.

Trevor Zegras  • C  •  Flyers

Trevor Zegras Leads Flyers to Victory Tuesday

Philadelphia Flyers forward Trevor Zegras notched three points in Tuesday's 5-1 road win over the New Jersey Devils. Zegras scored the second-fastest two goals to start a game in franchise history and added one assist. Thanks to Zegras, the Flyers were already two goals ahead 3:38 into the first period. His second goal came during a power play. Zegras has had a successful first campaign in Philadelphia, becoming the first Flyers player to record 40 assists in his debut season with the franchise since Chris Pronger in 2009-10. In 78 outings, he has also contributed 25 goals. The Flyers are in a desperate race to reach the playoffs, and Zegras has played a big role during their end-of-season push, logging points in 13 of the last 17 games.

Kevin Bahl  • D  •  Flames

Kevin Bahl Sustains Lower-Body Injury Against Stars

Calgary Flames defenseman Kevin Bahl (lower body) exited Tuesday's overtime loss to the Dallas Stars in the first period, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports. He appeared to have hurt his left leg in a collision with Stars defenseman Thomas Harley. Bahl is now in danger of missing his second game of the season when Calgary returns to the ice on Thursday night against Colorado. While he doesn't have much fantasy value, Bahl has been an effective player for the Flames, registering 18 points (four goals, 14 assists), 57 SOG, 99 blocks, 114 hits, and a plus-two rating in 76 outings. Brayden Pachal is likely to draw into the lineup on Thursday if Bahl can't play.

Michael Rasmussen  • C  •  Red Wings

Michael Rasmussen Likely to Miss Rest of Regular Season

Detroit Red Wings forward Michael Rasmussen (lower body) will likely miss the rest of the 2025-26 regular season, Bob Duff of Detroit Hockey Now reports. In his third game back in the lineup, he aggravated a lower-body injury during Tuesday's defeat to Columbus. After the game, Red Wings head coach Todd McLellan told reporters that Rasmussen will miss "a few more games." Detroit has four more regular-season games remaining, with the team's playoff chances fading fast. Rasmussen is set to finish the campaign with his lowest scoring total in five years. He has produced 14 points (six goals, eight assists) in 64 contests. We will likely see Dominik Shine return to the lineup as Rasmussen's replacement on Thursday against Philadelphia.

Dmitry Kulikov  • D  •  Panthers

Dmitry Kulikov Done for the Season After Breaking Finger

Florida Panthers defenseman Dmitry Kulikov (finger) will miss the rest of the season, Jameson Olive of the Panthers' official site reports. In Tuesday's loss to the Montreal Canadiens, Kulikov became the third Panthers player to break a finger late in the season. This happened a few games after Kulikov broke his nose. Health issues made it a frustrating campaign for Kulikov, as he was limited to only 19 appearances. The stay-at-home defenders didn't score a single point this season. Florida's defense is also missing Uvis Balinskis (foot), Aaron Ekblad (finger), and Niko Mikkola (knee), giving more fantasy value to Michael Benning and Tobias Bjornfot.

Jalen Chatfield  • D  •  Hurricanes

Jalen Chatfield Exits Early With Lower-Body Injury

Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Jalen Chatfield (lower body) didn't finish Tuesday's matchup with the Boston Bruins, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports. The 29-year-old left the game in the third period due to a lower-body injury. Chatfield made his 71st appearance of the season against Boston. He's played a significant role for the Hurricanes, averaging 20:06 of ice time. However, Chatfield hasn't really made an impact in fantasy hockey. He has recorded 17 points (two goals, 15 assists), 99 SOG, 62 blocks, and a plus-16 rating. Mike Reilly, who was a healthy scratch for a seventh consecutive game on Tuesday, will fill the void in the lineup on Thursday night against Chicago if Chatfield can't give it a go.

Nazem Kadri  • C  •  Avalanche

Nazem Kadri Suffers Upper-Body Injury Tuesday

Colorado Avalanche forward Nazem Kadri (upper body) was unavailable for most of Tuesday's 3-1 conference-clinching win over the St. Louis Blues. He took only seven shifts and logged 6:09 of ice time. The team ruled him out for the rest of the game at the start of the third period. Kadri has scored four goals and nine points in 16 games since rejoining the Avalanche in March. With Colorado sitting comfortably at the top of the Western Conference standings, it would make sense for the team if it didn't rush Kadri back during the regular season. Zakhar Bardakov and Joel Kiviranta will be options to enter the lineup on Thursday against Calgary if Kadri isn't healthy enough to face his former team.

Morgan Geekie  • C  •  Bruins

Morgan Geekie Collects Second Career Hat Trick

Boston Bruins center Morgan Geekie scored three goals, but it was not enough to defeat the Carolina Hurricanes as Boston lost 6-5 in overtime on Tuesday. He was on a big goal drought before Tuesday, having not scored a goal since March 5 -- 17 straight contests. Despite this drought, Geekie is having a career year with 37 goals, 66 points, and 22 penalty minutes.
