Montreal Canadiens goaltender Andrew Hammond has been placed on Injured Reserve with a lower-body injury, the team announced on Friday. He took down Calgary 5-4 in overtime Thursday night, but it appears that the 34-year-old also tweaked something. It's a shame because Hammond has been a nice feel-good story in recent weeks, making his first regular-season start since 2018 and going on to post a perfect 3-0-0 record before getting hurt. The Canadiens have called up Cayden Primeau as an emergency replacement ahead of Saturday's clash with the Oilers.
