Calgary Flames defenseman Michael Stone (undisclosed) has been placed on Injured Reserve after he made a very early exit in Saturday's 4-3 loss to New Jersey. Stone took only one shift in the game, playing for 25 seconds. It looks like he was already dealing with an injury prior to the game and tried to give it a go but things didn't feel well enough. The 32-year-old has been a very productive third-pairing defenseman for Calgary, notching five points in 10 games this season. With Chris Tanev (upper body) also recently having dropped out of the lineup and Oliver Kylington (personal) away from the team, Calgary's situation at the back is far from ideal. Nick DeSimone and Dennis Gilbert have been called up from the minors to provide some cover.
