P.K. Subban Fantasy Stats

New Jersey Devils defenseman P.K. Subban scored the team's only goal in Tuesday's heavy 6-1 loss to Philadelphia. He found the back of the net with his lone effort on goal and recorded one block and three hits as well in 19:30 of ice time. Subban still has admirers among fantasy managers, but he simply isn't the player he used to be anymore. The former Norris Trophy winner has tallied 11 points in 27 games this season with 45 shots, 36 hits and 31 blocks.

New Jersey Devils defensemen P.K. Subban and Ty Smith have been ruled out of Tuesday's meeting with Pittsburgh. Subban was added to the NHL's COVID-19 protocol list on Tuesday and Smith is carrying an upper-body injury. It's a bitter blow for the Devils, who have already been without a number of key guys up front, and now the blue line gets a whole new look as well. Subban and Smith have combined for 40 points this season and the latter trails only Dallas' Jason Robertson among rookies with 19 assists. Ryan Murray and Damon Severson should be prepared for a huge workload on Tuesday night. Will Butcher will get into the lineup and should take up a spot on the power play.

Kyle Palmieri also scored for the Devils and now has three goals in his last two games. Subban was possibly the most exciting blueliner in the league only a couple of years ago, but the former Norris Trophy winner really fell off the cliff in New Jersey during his debut season when he had only 18 points in 68 games. He has upped his production a little in 2020-21 with five points through 12 games, but he's gone from a must-own player to a guy you only take a chance on if he's hot. Having gone pointless just once in his last five outings, Subban is currently reminding us of the good old days.
