NHL DFS For Wednesday the 29th
There are many benefits to using an NHL Optimizer when making daily fantasy lineups for DraftKings or Fanduel. FantasyData uses expert fantasy projections which creates an opportunity for spotting value in the cost when making your lineup. DFS sites do not adjust the prices of players of any slate once available, which means that if a player is ruled out from an injury the backup player’s price is not adjusted. Staying on top of all injuries can be a huge task, thankfully FantasyData’s team is making updates to their projections constantly to allow their subscribers an edge in finding the best players. All of our NHL player projections are fed into our NHL optimizer daily to allow the user the best possible DFS NHL Lineup.
- Using Fanduel’s DFS Salary
Centers
Nick Suzuki $6,500
Suzuki is off to a nice start to the season, racking up 17 points in 21 games. The Canadiens number-one center is always on the ice and Columbus has not been able to keep the puck out of the net this season, giving up 3.39 goals per game. In what seems to be an even matchup, the Canadiens need their top centerman to step up. Suzuki had 1 goal and 2 assists when these teams met earlier this season.
Patrik Laine $4,900
Laine is a sharpshooter on the powerplay and, Montreal is prone to giving up goals on the penalty kill, with only a 73% penalty kill percentage. Having pieces in this matchup will be a positive for your DFS lineup as this is an even matchup that could see plenty of goals. Laine is coming off a 16.5 DFS scoring performance in his last game. The Optimizer loves Laine in this matchup, giving him the highest value of any center.
(VALUE – Projected Value based on Fantasy Points per dollar ratio)
Pierre-Luc Dubois $4,700
The Kings come into this matchup well-rested, not playing since the 25th. Dubois is off to a solid start to the season, with 11 points in 19 games. The Kings are also red hot entering this contest, winning 5 straight games. Dubois should be heavily involved in the offense against a team that doesn’t match up well and the Kings will be on home ice.
Wingers
Cole Caufield $7,300
Caufield, who is usually a goal scorer only has 6 through 21 games this season. Even so, he still has 11 assists, giving him 17 points. This could be a get-right game for the Canadiens after they have lost 3 of their last 5 games. Caufield had an excellent game the last time these teams faced off, taking 8 shots, scoring 1 goal, and notching 2 assists.
Blake Wheeler $4,400
Wheeler and the Rangers take on the Red Wings in this matchup. Wheeler was quiet to start the season but has picked up recently, recording 6 points in the last 10 games. Wheeler has been steady for DFS purposes as well, scoring 9 or more DFS points in 7 of his last 10 games.
Alex Laferriere $4,000
The Optimizer’s absolute favorite Value at the winger position, Laferriere is a good player to sneak into the lineup because of his low salary. The rookie has shown flashes this season but hasn’t put it all together just yet. The Kings are heavily favored in this game and are averaging 4 goals per game this season.
Defenseman
Erik Gustafsson $5,500
Although the Red Wings have been pretty good at stopping the defensemen position this season, Gustafsson is on a major hot streak currently. Gustafsson has recorded 10 assists in his last 10 games. The Rangers are clicking on the powerplay at an excellent 30% and Gustafsson patrols the blue line on one of the powerplay units. Gustafsson is surrounded by good talent and he has been a reason for their success this season.
Drew Doughty $5,300
Doughty has been a mainstay on the Kings blue line and for good reason. The savvy veteran continues to produce. 10 Points in 19 games for a defenseman is solid, not to mention he has 4 goals. The Kings trust him and he is always on the ice, he averages 25+ minutes of ice time per game. In DFS there is so much value to having a guy who is always on the ice and Doughty offers a nice offensive skill set from the defensemen position.
Justin Barron $4,200
The Blue Jackets have struggled to defend defensemen all season, ranking 26th best against that position group. Barron plays top pair minutes and is on the powerplay, giving him ample time to rack up points. Barron has gotten off to a nice start this season, already racking up 4 goals out of 18 games.
Goalie
Igor Shesterkin/ Jonathan Quick $8,200
Normally I would never say to take one of the more expensive goalies but with only 3 games on this Wednesday night slate of games and the prices are all very close together, I don’t mind paying up slightly for what has been an elite goal-tending tandem this season. The Rangers are only giving up 2.4 goals per game and the Red Wings are without captain and number one center Dylan Larkin in this matchup.
