Fanduel NHL Picks for Wednesday the 22nd

NHL DFS For Wednesday the 22nd

NHL Optimizer.jpgThere are many benefits to using an NHL Optimizer when making daily fantasy lineups for DraftKings or Fanduel. FantasyData uses expert fantasy projections which creates an opportunity for spotting value in the cost when making your lineup. DFS sites do not adjust the prices of players of any slate once available, which means that if a player is ruled out from an injury the backup player’s price is not adjusted. Staying on top of all injuries can be a huge task, thankfully FantasyData’s team is making updates to their projections constantly to allow their subscribers an edge in finding the best players. All of our NHL player projections are fed into our NHL optimizer daily to allow the user the best possible DFS NHL Lineup.

Using FanDuel’s salary*

Centers

Dylan Larkin $8,100

Larkin is off to a nice start this season, notching 17 points through 17 games.  The Red Wings return from Sweden with a tough matchup with the New Jersey Devils.  The Devils are a good team but give up 3.8 goals per game.  Larkin will see top minutes and his linemate Alex DeBrincat has 11 goals already.  In what is shaping up potentially be a high-scoring contest, the Red Wings captain is a good pick for your lineup.

Sebastian Aho $6,800

Aho is the leading point-getter for the Hurricanes this season and Edmonton has had a tough time keeping the puck out of the net.  The Oilers are giving up more than 3.8 goals a game and Aho is heavily involved in the offense.  Aho is the centerman on the number one line and the number one powerplay line.  He will be heavily involved in the game and has recorded double-digit fantasy scoring in 8 of his last 10 games.

Nazem Kadri $5,900

The last time Kadri and the Flames took on Nashville, Kadri recorded 32 DFS points. Nashville does not defend the center position well and Kadri will be looking to take advantage of that.  The Flames powerplay is only clicking at 14%, which needs to improve.  Lucky for them, the Predators penalty kill is only at a 71% success rate.  The Flames have a chance to figure out the powerplay and Kadri is on the first powerplay unit, giving him a good chance to be involved in the scoring.

Wingers

Matthew Tkachuk $8,400

The two best teams in the Atlantic Division face off in this game and the Panthers have their hands full with the Bruins in this contest.  A chippy game is likely in store and that is where Tkachuk thrives.  The physical playmaker has had a great season so far, recording 17 points in 18 games.  Tkachuk has not recorded a point in his last 3 games but has still had heavy involvement in the offense, recording at least 3 shots in all 3 games.  In what is shaping up to be a competitive contest, Tkachuk should have his fingerprints all over this game.

Johnny Gaudreau $4,600

Johnny Hockey is the optimizer’s absolute favorite value play at the winger position in today’s slate of games.  For such a low salary cost, he is so heavily involved in the Blue Jackets offense.  Gaudreau may not be off to the best start this season, but in a plus matchup with Chicago tonight, the talent and involvement makes him a good player to sneak into your lineup.

William Eklund $3,500

Another winger that the optimizer loves tonight is William Eklund.  The Sharks have had their offensive struggles this season but the Kraken have trouble keeping the puck out of their own net, giving up 3.5 goals against per game.  Eklund plays first-line minutes and is also on the first powerplay unit.  His low cost, plus potential involvement in the game is why his value is so high on the optimizer.

Defensemen

Roman Josi $7,500

Josi is one of the most underrated players in the league and is the leader of the Predators.  Josi is one of the best two-way defensemen and can easily get many shots and has the opportunity to block some shots.  Josi patrols the blue line on the powerplay and has an opportunity to get pucks on the net.

Jaccob Slavin $6,000

Slavin has a great matchup in this game, Edmonton has been leaking goals all season.  Through 17 games he has 10 points and is a +8.  Proving he supplies offense to this Carolina Hurricanes team while he keeps the puck out of his own net.  Slavin has been quiet the last few games but this matchup could be his get-right game to record some points.  The Oilers usually have a high number of shots per game, giving him the opportunity to record some blocked shots and earn DFS points on the defensive side of the puck as well.

Vince Dunn $5,900

Vince Dunn and the Kraken are taking on San Jose, who ranks dead last against defensemen, and Dunn is a point-producing machine.  Through 20 games he has 18 points. San Jose is averaging over 4 goals against per game and Dunn is the points leader on the Kraken, a perfect match for an opportunity at a high-scoring contest.

Goalies

Carter Hart/ Samuel Ersson $6,800

Hart and Ersson are both valued very high on the optimizer.  The Flyers are on a 5-game-win streak and going against an Islanders team that is struggling to score the puck.  The Islanders are only averaging 2.5 goals a game and Carter Hart has looked great this season.  Hart is currently sporting an impressive 2.40 goals against per game and a save percentage of .919.
