Adam Warren Retires After Eight-Year Career

Right-handed pitcher Adam Warren announced his retirement from professional baseball on Wednesday after eight seasons. Warren last pitched in the majors with the San Diego Padres in 2019 and hadn't pitched since due to a shoulder injury and Tommy John surgery. The 35-year-old began his MLB career in 2012 with the New York Yankees and spent seven of his eight seasons pitching in pinstripes. He had a decent career in mostly a relief role, posting a 3.53 ERA (4.02 FIP), 1.23 WHIP, six saves and 20.9 percent strikeout rate in 492 1/3 innings pitched over 323 appearances (21 starts) in the regular season.

Adam Warren Traded to Mariners

New York Yankees relief pitcher Adam Warren has been traded to the Seattle Mariners. It's unclear at the moment what the Yankees are getting back in return for Warren. This season Warren has a 2.70 ERA with 37 strikeouts through 24 appearances in New York. Warren was once a starting pitcher in the Yankees organization, but was converted into a full time reliever in 2016. He does not have much late inning experience, so he likely won't have any fantasy value besides leagues that count holds.

Adam Warren Makes Appearance After Activation

After being activated off the disabled list at the surprising expense of New York Yankees relief pitcherTommy Kahnle, relieverAdam Warren wasted no time in making his return to the mound. The 30-year-old made an appearance in the second game of Mondays doubleheader after starter Domingo German fell an out short of completing seven innings. Warren struggled with his command, walking three and allowing one hit in his 1 1/3 innings of work while tossing 39 pitches. He still managed to escape unharmed, however, not allowing a run and striking out one. When hes in good form, Warren is usually an integral part of New Yorks bullpen.

Adam Warren Could Be Activated Monday

Out since late April with a strained muscle in his back, New York Yankees pitcher Adam Warren is as close as ever to returning, with the activation off the Disabled List possibly coming Monday. The 30-year-old is already traveling with the big league team, having spent his weekend in Baltimore as the Yankees took on the Orioles. This past week he also threw three scoreless innings with Double-A Trenton, with manager Aaron Boone saying a Monday activation is very possible. Like they faced with the return of Greg Bird, the Yankees now find themselves in a conundrum regarding who to drop from the bullpen to make room for Warren. The three most probable candidates, Chasen Shreve, Jonathan Holder and A.J. Cole, are all pitching well and/or useful.

Tommy Kahnle and Adam Warren to Travel to Tampa to Begin Rehab Assignment

Yankees relievers Tommy Kahnle and Adam Warren will travel to Tampa tomorrow to begin their rehab assignments with the Single-A Advanced Tampa Tarpons according to MLB.com's Bryan Hoch. Hoch also reports that Warren is scheduled to throw off the mound on Monday. Kahnle landed on the disabled list with right shoulder tendinitis, while Warren has been out with a right back strain. Kahnle is expected to return to the Yankees by the end of the month, while Warren is expected to return by June. Both pitchers should provide good value for owners in leagues that count holds and K/9 upon their return.

Adam Warren Diagnosed With Ankle Contusion

New York Yankees reliever Adam Warren(ankle) made his season debut Saturday against the Toronto Blue Jays, lasting only three batters. Appearing in the sixth inning, the right-hander was hit in the leg by a comeback line drive, which resulted in an out. While he smiled, Warren didnt even attempt to toss a pitch with the trainers out, being immediately pulled from the game. Fortunately for the Yankees, X-rays on the 30-year-olds right ankle were negative, but he was diagnosed with an ankle contusion. At this moment, a disabled list stint doesnt seem necessary, and the Yankees wont make another roster move relating to Warren.

Adam Warren Could Return Soon

The New York Yankees bullpen is frequently mentioned as one on the club's strongest points and it could be getting even stronger in the coming weeks. Adam Warren, the spot starter and reliever, who has been out since the first week of the month, could be returning soon. The 30-year-old threw on Saturday and Sunday before being scheduled to play long toss today. Warren's return could be pivotal for the Yankees, who now have a struggling Dellin Betances to deal with. For his part, Warren has been good for the club in 2017, posting a 3-2 record with a 2.40 ERA in 45 games.

Adam Warren Making Progress

New York Yankees relief pitcher Adam Warren (shoulder) has been playing catch, but the progression from his is moving slower than he would like. He is shooting to be back when the Yankees return to the Bronx on July 3. Warren has not pitched since June 13 in Los Angeles and has six holds this season. His 2.23 ERA and 0.80 WHIP are nice for leagues that count holds, but not much more.

Adam Warren Records First Save Of Season

After he tossed 24 pitches in his save on Saturday afternoon, the New York Yankees opted not to use interim closer Dellin Betances with the score 7-5 in their favor yesterday. The game was in the eighth inning, and relief pitcher Adam Warren was called on to record the final out, which he did successfully. In the bottom of the eighth, the Yankees would tack on two more runs, increasing their lead to a more comfortable 9-5. Therefore, Warren returned for the ninth and retired the side in order, putting the finishing touches on his first save of the season.
