Alex Dickerson Signs With Atlanta

Free-agent outfielder Alex Dickerson signed a one-year deal worth $1 million with the Atlanta Braves. Dickerson did have a career-high 13 home runs in 2021 with the San Francisco Giants, but other than that he was mostly underwhelming with a .233/.304/.420 slash line, 38 RBI and 37 runs scored in 283 at-bats over 111 games. The 31-year-old isn't guaranteed an Opening Day roster spot, and if he does make Atlanta's roster, he'll most likely be a bench bat against right-handed pitchers. Dickerson has 23 combined home runs in the last two years with the Giants and has slugged 39 career long balls with a .260/.330/.470 slash line in five big-league seasons (three with the San Diego Padres).

X-Rays Negative On Alex Dickerson's Foot

San Francisco Giants outfielder Alex Dickerson (foot) came on as a pinch-hitter in the sixth inning of Tuesday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. He was hit in his left foot during the at-bat and awarded a free base. He ran the bases and scored a run, but was removed from the game in the next half-inning. After the game, he had X-rays on his left foot and they came back negative. Dickerson has been a reserve outfielder for the team lately and he's drawn a few starts per week to spell one of the team's starters. Over 110 games this year, he's slashing .234/.305/.422 with 13 home runs, 38 RBI and 37 runs.

Alex Dickerson Lands On Injured List

San Francisco Giants outfielder Alex Dickerson (hamstring) has been placed on the 10-day injured list. He suffered a hamstring injury while running the bases on Friday. The organization has not given a timetable for his return. Mauricio Dubon has been recalled in a corresponding move. Dickerson wasn't offering much at the plate right now. He has 13 home runs, but isn't someone worth holding in fantasy formats. Honestly, hamstring issues can hinder, so Dickerson could be looking at missing multiple weeks.

Alex Dickerson Hits Three-Run Shot

San Francisco Giants outfielder Alex Dickerson had a nice night at the plate Wednesday, going 2-for-4 with a home run, a walk, three RBI, and two runs scored. Despite only having four hits in his last 17 at-bats, Dickerson has put up a .706 slugging percentage in his last seven games. He now has a .226/.294/438 slash line with 12 homers in 217 at-bats. Dickerson figures to play against mostly right-handed pitching going forward, and he should be very useful for fantasy managers in leagues with daily lineup changes.

Alex Dickerson Hits Pinch-Hit Home Run Monday

San Francisco Giants outfielder Alex Dickerson made his lone at-bat count in Monday's 5-3 loss to the Cardinals, hitting a pinch-hit solo home run. Dickerson got the Giants on the board in the eighth inning, putting a Giovanny Gallegos fastball on the top of the right-field tin roof for his eighth HR of the season. Dickerson has failed to replicate his success from the past two seasons and is now slashing just .233/.303/.421 with 24 RBI. His fantasy value will remain limited until he can hit well consistently.

Alex Dickerson Back In The Lineup Wednesday

San Francisco Giants outfielder Alex Dickerson was activated from the injured list on Tuesday after missing nearly two weeks with an upper back strain. He was held out of Tuesday's starting lineup with the left-handed Andrew Heaney on the mound for the Los Angeles Angels, but came on as a pinch-hitter and went 0-for-1. For Wednesday's game, he's back in the team's starting lineup with right-hander Shohei Ohtani pitching for the Angels. Dickerson is hitting second and playing designated hitter. Through 52 games on the year, Dickerson is slashing .224/.293/.396 with six home runs, 22 RBI and 17 runs. He should be in the starting lineup most games where the team faces a righty going forward.

Alex Dickerson On Track To Return This Saturday

San Francisco Giants outfielder Alex Dickerson (back) is on track to return to the team this Saturday according to beat reporter Kerry Crowley. Dickerson landed on the 10-day IL with an upper back strain on June 9 so a return on Saturday, June 19 would cover the minimum of 10 days. The team never expected him to be out long so it's good to hear he hasn't experienced any setbacks. The 31-year-old outfielder is batting just .226 with a .693 OPS and six home runs over 133 at-bats this year. He's not on the fantasy radar outside of deep NL-only leagues due to his platoon role and inconsistent production.

Alex Dickerson Officially Lands On The Injured List

The San Francisco Giants officially placed outfielder Alex Dickerson(back) on the 10-day injured list with an upper back strain. He was removed early from Tuesday's game against the Rangers and will miss at least the next 10 days. According to Giants manager Gabe Kapler, Dickerson's stay on the injured list isn't expected to be long. Mike Tauchman and Austin Slater should see an uptick in playing time while Dickerson is sidelined. Fantasy managers in standard leagues can move on from Dickerson. The 31-year-old is mainly an option in deep leagues and NL-only formats. Pitcher Jimmie Sherfy's contract was selected by the Giants in a corresponding move.

Alex Dickerson Dealing With Minor Injury

San Francisco Giants outfielder Alex Dickerson (back) was pulled out early during Tuesday's game against the Texas Rangers. Dickerson only took one at-bat before exiting due to back tightness. Manager Gabe Kapler mentioned that Dickerson's back issue is not serious and they pulled him out as a precaution. This sounds like a day-to-day type of issue, so fantasy managers should expect him to possibly miss a game or two. Although, Dickerson wasn't a huge asset in fantasy formats, while serving as a part-time player.

Alex Dickerson Hits Three-Run Home Run Friday

San Francisco Giants outfielder Alex Dickerson took part in the home run party as the Giants beat the Cubs 8-5. Dickerson went 1-for-1 with a three-run HR and two walks. His second-inning blast was one of four HR the Giants hit in the game and capped a six-run inning. Dickerson has had a disappointing season overall, slashing .226/.299/.387 with five HR and 21 RBI. His performance coupled with his limited playing time has capped his fantasy value this season.
