Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Andrew Moore will receive the spot start against the Houston Astros on Tuesday. Moore posted a 9.98 ERA in the minors this season, so he doesn't have any fantasy value here. The Astros have a strong offense, so if anything, bet against Moore in DFS contests on Tuesday.
Andrew Moore Replacing Ariel Miranda In Rotation Sunday
Seattle Mariners pitcher Andrew Moore will replace starting pitcher Ariel Miranda and start Sunday against the Astros. Manager Scott Servais said Miranda could start again this year, but they want to give him a breather. Miranda has really struggled of late and is sporting an overall 4.90 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 7.7 K/9 on the year over 29 starts. He was merely an AL-only streamer before this, anyway. Moore has a 5.36 ERA over seven starts this year and is one to avoid against the potent Astros on Sunday.
Andrew Moore tossed six solid innings, allowing only two runs but the Astros scored late to edge the Mariners 5-3. Moore was given a vote of confidence from manager Scott Servais earlier in the week when he demoted Yovani Gallardo to the bullpen after the acquisition of Mike Leake. Moore allowed only three hits and it was his best outing since July 3rd when he allowed three runs over eight innings. Moore's time in the rotation may be coming to an end, however, with the news that James Paxton and Felix Hernandez are on the cusp of returning next week.
Seattle Mariners pitcher Andrew Moore was recalled from Triple-A Tacoma on Friday. He is taking the spot of the injured James Paxton on the M's roster, as Paxton could miss up to a month. The 23-year-old Moore owns a 5.65 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 16/4 K/BB ratio over 36 2/3 innings with the Mariners this season, but has also allowed an alarming 11 home runs. Judging by Moore's performance and Paxton's injury, Moore could get up to five starts, potentially giving him deep league value.
Andrew Moore threw 6 2/3 innings, allowing four runs on six hits as the Mariners ran into a buzz-saw named Chris Sale and lost 4-0. The Red Sox left-hander struck out 11 batters while Moore pitched decently but never really stood a chance. Moore was touched up for home runs in the third and fourth inning and kept his team in the game the best he could. Moore is now 1-3 with a 5.65 ERA as the Mariners starting rotation has been their biggest disappointment this season. Moore should not be viewed as a fantasy asset at this time.
Andrew Moore pitched seven solid innings, allowing three runs on six hits as the Mariners beat the Tigers 9-6. Moore picked up his first major league win in his first major league start and certainly did everything he could to put himself in the conversation for another start. The Mariners starting rotation is getting an overhaul right now, with Yovani Gallardo heading to the bullpen and Felix Hernandez being activated from the disabled list Friday. With Hernandez, Ariel Miranda, James Paxton and Sam Gaviglio already in the mix another start could conceivably happen for Moore. Moore is a combined 4-3 this season with 2.72 ERA between Double-A and Triple-A.
