Boone Logan News

Boone Logan Designated For Assignment

Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Boone Logan has been designated for assignment. This was a corresponding move to bringing Freddy Peralta up to start Tuesday against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Logan has got off to a rough start with the Brewers, pitching to a 5.91 ERA in 10 2/3 innings pitched. He held no fantasy value to begin with, and he should be dropped in any league he is owned in.

Boone Logan Struggling Since Return

Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Boone Logan has struggled out of the gate and despite not giving up a run, he's rocking a WHIP of 3.75 on the season. In 1 1/3 innings of work, he's given up three hits and two walks since returning from a triceps strain earlier in spring training. It appears he's possibly still rusty from missing out on spring training and will have to work through his struggles. He should not be owned in any formats behind Josh Hader, Corey Knebel and Jeremy Jeffress on the depth chart.

Boone Logan Makes LOOGY Appearance In Brewers Debut

Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Boone Logan gave up a hit to David Dahl in a Lefty One Out Guy (LOOGY) appearance and was taken out in favor of Matt Albers in the 5-2 win over the Colorado Rockies. Logan's debut with the Brewers was short lived and has so far yet to record his first out with the team. Just at first glance, Logan's role with the team could be as a potential LOOGY and this alone makes him not worth owning in standard formats.

Boone Logan Activated Off Disabled List

Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Boone Logan (triceps) has been activated off the 10-day disabled list and will be available to pitch for Thursday's game against the Colorado Rockies. Jorge Lopez was sent back down to Triple-A Colorado Springs Sky Sox as a corresponding move. Logan is now the fourth lefty in the Brewers bullpen along with Dan Jennings, Brent Suter, and Josh Hader. He will be making his Brewers debut and will look to improve off a season in which he pitched for a 4.71 ERA in 21 innings pitched with the Indians last year. Due to the strength of the Brewers bullpen, he will be given hardly any save situations and will not hold fantasy relevance.

Boone Logan Will Make One More Rehab Appearance

Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Boone Logan (triceps) will make one more appearance with Triple-A Colorado Springs Sky Sox before a decision is made on whether he will join the team. With Corey Knebel returning shortly and the Brewers bullpen proving to be one of the top bullpens in the majors right now, there may not be any room for Logan on the roster. If decisions were to be made with the bullpen, most likely Trevor Williams and Jorge Lopez would go to make room for Knebel and Logan. Logan won't hold much value in standard formats as he will be one of the lower relievers on the Brewers depth chart behind guys like Knebel, Josh Hader, Jeremy Jeffress, and Matt Albers.

Boone Logan Has Hitless Outing In Rehab Game

Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Boone Logan (shoulder) pitched one inning with no hits while striking out two in the rehab appearance with Double-A affiliate Biloxi Shuckers. This is good news for Logan, as it looks like he is pitching well and may be ready to go soon. He will most likely get another rehab appearance with Triple-A Colorado Springs before officially returning to the Brewers lineup. He is coming back to the third-ranked bullpen in the majors, so there are a couple questions as to who will get sent down. Logan will be pitching in middle relief for the Brewers and won't hold much value in standard formats.

Boone Logan Now Doing Mound Work

Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Boone Logan (triceps) is now throwing off a mound after doing a bullpen session Tuesday. This is huge progress, as he was not predicted to do mound work until later in the week. The Brewers are hoping that with this progress, the rehab process will be much faster and he can get playing for the Brewers sooner. He still has to do some rehab games in the minors, however, this is still great news to hear. He will most likely be nothing more than a middle-relief arm behind Corey Knebel, Josh Haderand Matt Albers in the bullpen.

Boone Logan To Throw Bullpen Session This Week

Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Boone Logan (triceps) is making great progress in his throwing program and is expected to throw a bullpen session sometime in the next couple of days. On April 4, it was released that he would be on a four- to six-week recovery schedule and despite there being no schedule updates since then, he is looking at a two- to four-week recovery. The Brewers will reportedly get a tighter schedule as he gets closer to return. Logan will be nothing more than a middle-relief arm for the Brewers and unfortunately won't be in the Brewers bullpen long enough to be a consideration for saves while Corey Knebel recovers.

Boone Logan On Schedule To Do Mound Work Next Week

Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Boone Logan (triceps) is on schedule with his four- to six-week return date and is going to do some mound work hopefully by next week after the Brewers road trip. Logan will most likely be a middle reliever behind guys on the depth chart like Josh Hader and Corey Knebel, so he will most likely not get any save opportunities.

Boone Logan Will Miss Six Weeks

Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Boone Logan (triceps) will miss six weeks, manager Craig Counsell tells Adam McCalvy of MLB.com. Logan suffered what had been described as a minor left triceps strain earlier in the week, but it appears to be more serious than initially thought. He will rejoin the Brewers' bullpen before the end of May if all goes well.
