Bronson Arroyo Placed On 10-Day Disabled List Monday
Cincinnati Reds starting pitcher Bronson Arroyo was placed on the 10-day disabled list on Monday, a day after admitting he had been receiving cortisone shots in his pitching shoulder since Spring Training. Arroyo has been hit hard this season, posting a 3-6 record, 7.35 ERA, and 2.92 home runs per nine innings. He gave some quotes after Sunday's game indicating he may be at the end of the line regarding his big league pitching career. The Reds also placed shortstop Zack Cozart on the DL, calling up outfielder Jesse Winker and right-handed pitcher Ariel Hernandez to take his and Arroyo's spots on the active roster. Starting pitchers Homer Bailey and Brandon Finnegan could both be back from the DL by the time Arroyo is eligible to return which further clouds Arroyo's status with the team going forward.
